Beach Donut Plans Move to Former Friendly’s Site By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer

After the building was severely damaged in a fire, the owners of Beach Donut in Clinton say they are planning to temporarily relocate to the former Friendly’s building on Route 1. The business hopes to reopen soon, and employees are accepting help from the public to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Since a fire significantly damaged the shop at 344 E. Main St. late last month, Beach Donut has been inoperable, and all production and distribution activities to partner locations have been suspended. While other shops along the shoreline carry Beach Donut products, the goods are all made in Clinton using proprietary recipes. Store owner Saba Tawakuli and employee Amber Dean told the Harbor News on June

11 that the business is planning to relocate to the former Friendly’s site at 62 W. Main St. No exact timetable has been given for the move, but Tawakuli and Dean said they hope to be open within the next month. They encouraged residents to monitor social media for updates and asked that anyone able to help with the move contact them.
