Aldi Proposal Headed to June 8 Hearing By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer

A proposal for a new Aldi supermarket in Clinton will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public hearing on June 8. The application calls for construction of a 20,664-square-foot store at 224 E. Main St.

The hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The proposed store would be built on property located beyond the Walgreens plaza on East Main Street. Under the application, existing buildings on the site would be demolished and replaced with the supermarket and a 95-space parking lot.

The application was submitted by Seamus Moran and property owner Alice, LLC. State business records list Ronald Lyman as the principal of Alice, LLC. In addition to the Aldi store, plans for the property also include a separate 6,000-
