Old Saybrook to Vote on Dock and Dine Deal By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer OLD SAYBROOK

Old Saybrook residents will head to a referendum in June to vote on a proposed land swap: the town would acquire the former Dock and Dine Restaurant property at Saybrook Point in exchange for leasing the Vicky Duffy Pavilion to a local businessman, who would convert it into a restaurant. As of press

time, a date for the referendum has not been set. Residents shared their thoughts during a public information session on April 30, where town leaders outlined the deal. In a press release last month, First Select-

man Carl Fortuna said, “This arrangement would unite Fort Saybrook Monument Park, Gardiner’s Landing Park, and Saybrook Point as one contiguous town property, converting Saybrook Point into a year-round waterfront park with options for passive recreation.” Former State Rep. The popular lobster shack recently completed renovations over the winter after high tides and winter flooding lifted the structure off its pilings. Lobster Landing is open seasonally from April 24 through Dec. 31.
