Clinton, Westbrook, & Old Saybrook Vol. XXIX Iss. 19

Former Clinton Chamber Director Arrested in $100K Case By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer

Months after the sudden collapse of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce fueled rumors across town, its former executive director, Paul Orsini, was arrested May 1, accused of taking more than $100,000 from the organization. He also faces more than 50 tax-related charges, according to Clinton police. According to a May 1 press release from

the Clinton Police Department, Orsini is alleged to have misappropriated more than $100,000 of the chamber’s money. He was charged with larceny in the first degree and held on a $75,000 bond, the release said. Orsini was also charged by the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services with more than 50 tax-related offenses. He was held on a $110,000 bond in connection with those charges. The release states the alleged crimes took

place between 2022 and 2025 and notes that “other agencies” are still investigating the matter. The Harbor News obtained warrant affidavits from Middlesex Superior Court detailing the charges from the state agency. A document detailing the charge from the Clinton Police Department was not available at press time.
