Clinton Democrat Agrees To Consent Order With SEEC By Eric O'Connell Staff Writer
A Clinton Democrat told the Harbor News he will voluntarily enter into a consent agreement with the State Election Enforcement Commission to resolve a complaint over a campaign finance violation. On Dec. 18, Michael Rossi emailed a copy of a consent order he was sent by the SEEC
to the Harbor News. Rossi said he would sign the order and return it to the SEEC that day. Minutes from the SEEC website show the commission had not yet formally accepted the order and closed the complaint as of deadline. The issue was continued at a Dec. 17 meeting after an executive session, and the next SEEC meeting isn’t until Jan. 7, which is after press time for this article.
According to the order sent by Rossi, the SEEC said that Rossi violated a Connecticut statute by having a municipal campaign solely financed by the Clinton Democratic Town Committee while he was also serving as the treasurer of the Clinton DTC.
