Historic Home Eyed for Community Center Use By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
The Guilford Engineering Department is planning to bring forward a proposal to renovate the property at 52 Church St., adjacent to the Guilford Community Center, to provide additional parking and storage for the neighboring facility. The department will present its plans to
the Planning and Zoning Commission in September, said Town Engineer Janice Plaziak. A site plan provided by Plaziak to the Guilford Courier shows a proposal to connect the Community Center with the property at 52 Church St. via a small connecting corridor that would lead drivers to a parking lot behind the building with 29 additional parking spaces. Portions of the building’s exterior would be removed and restored,
while the multiple rooms in what was formerly a private home would be converted into additional storage space for the Community Center.
