Guilford Grads Urged to Build Community, Do Good By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer

The Guilford High School Class of 2026 will look to its future with a sense of community and commitment to spreading good in the world following its graduation ceremony on the evening of June 12. While the evening was a joyous affair for

the community, graduates were unexpectedly gifted with diplomas that included the incorrect year of their milestone, with certificates displaying the year 2025. On behalf of the district, Guilford Public Schools Superintendent Paul Freeman expressed “regret” about the error that “will be corrected immediately” with new diplomas mailed to graduates.

“We are sorry if it in any way detracts from our graduates’ accomplishments or the celebration of a wonderful graduation day,” Freeman said. The first student speaker was valedictorian Ethan Parker. The graduate’s speech was a poem he wrote “set thousands of years See Guilford Grads page 11
