At its next meeting on Feb. 4, the Guilford Planning and Zoning Commission will review plans for a building permit and site modification for the construction of new office spaces and a garage at 417 Boston Post Road as an extension of operations performed by
the APT Foundation’s clinic next door. The APT Foundation, a nonprofit formed by the Yale School of Medicine to treat substance addiction and mental illnesses, established one of its clinics at 439 Boston Post Road, despite an outpouring of disapproval and concern from numerous Guilford residents. One of the primary concerns surrounding the approval of the clinic in Guil-
ford was a perceived lack of transparency by town leadership on the topic. Town officials, however, have previously pointed out the legality of the clinic’s establishment in the town without the need for a discretionary process. The approval of the clinic by the planning
