Affordable Housing Commission Sets Sights on New Year By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
The Guilford Affordable Housing Commission wrapped up a year that saw “significant strides in advancing Guilford’s Affordable Housing Plan through outreach, strategic planning, and collaboration,” according to a draft of its year-end summary.
In the report, commission Chair Mary Jo Kestner expressed gratitude to the 10 commissioners next to whom she sits, as well as other town officials and community partners. “Our efforts reflect a shared commitment to ensuring that Guilford remains a welcoming and inclusive community for all,” she said. Now in a new year, the commission has
the momentum that they hope continues to “turn vision into action,” said Kestner, especially after numerous key accomplishments in the area of housing in 2025. New Year New Race Runners take off from the start line on by the Guilford Town Green on Park Street at the beginning of the 40th annual Frosty 5K on Thursday, Jan. 1. The New Year's Day race, hosted by the Guilford Rotary Club, took participants past iconic town landmarks including the green, marina and fairgrounds. The event also featured a kids fun run and a 2-mile fitness walk.
