DRESS AND APPEARANCE

Parents rightly expect the School to enforce high standards of dress and appearance.

Attention is drawn to this matter in the School Prospectus and the implied acceptance given by parents to the School Rules and Regulations when they are applying for their son or daughter to be admitted to Davenant.

There is a clear standard that students will be sent home by the Senior Leadership Team or Head of Year for inappropriate uniform.

Standard School Uniform Requirements

Item Branding

Black Blazer School badge must be fixed on breast pocket

Plain Black V neck jumper No branding

White Shirt No branding

Black trousers No branding

Plain black kilt knee length skirt

Specialised kilt skirt

School Tie School tie

Sensible, plain, flat black shoes No branding (not suede, canvas or trainer style and no boots allowed).

Plain navy blue or black Coat/Jacket No branding

Additional requirements

 If a belt is worn, it must be black

 Plain black socks (boys)

 Plain black ankle socks or plain black tights (girls)

 Jewellery is not permitted except for watches, students may also wear a small ear stud – only plain gold or plain silver studs are allowed

 Hair coverings and bands must be black. Hair colour and styling must be natural

 Make-up, nail varnish and/or fake tan is not permitted

 All items of clothing should be clearly named

 Black Shorts or 2 in 1 black shorts (girls)

 Black tracksuit bottoms/black training trousers

 Sports trainers must have laces and non marking soles

 Black or white socks

 Football Boots Studs must have kite mark (Compulsory)

 Shin Pads and Mouthguard (Compulsory)

SWIMMING

 Plain Black Swimming Shorts (boys)

 Plain black Swimming Costume (girls)

 Red Swimming Hat

 Goggles (optional)

Design and Technology

Protective clothing must be worn for practical Design and Technology lessons (this may be an overall, an apron, an old shirt with elasticated wrists or similar but not made of nylon or plastic). This may be worn, as necessary, for Art or Science lessons.

House T-Shirts

All through the school year there is a series of House Competitions that students can take part in. When representing your house we like all students to wear their house colours with pride.

School Shoes

School Shoes should be flat and plain black. They should be either leather, faux or patent. Below are some examples of suitable school shoes.
