A family-run company that’s continuously raised the bar for more than a century, Darley is built upon a steadfast commitment to innovation, reliability, and relationships that add value with every interaction.
The catalog features a complete line of firefighting, police and municipal equipment.
William Stuart Darley, a 31-year old self-educated inventor born in 1877, leaves his job to create a new Chicago catalog company, W.S. Darley, to sell his inventions and other equipment to municipalities.

W.S. Darley produces its own fire pump, the Champion centrifugal pump. A manufacturing plant opens a few years later in Chippewa Falls, WI

meets with Henry Ford to become a Ford sales agent and starts taking orders to ship

During WII, thousands of trucks and pumps are sold to divisions of the U.S. military stationed around the world. After the war, foreign governments and fire truck builders contact Darley looking for replacements and parts for the pumps that military forces left behind, launching the company’s export business.

Fire apparatus sales become the largest segment of Darley’s business. Equipment sales also grow and the company’s catalogs are in virtually every firehouse in America. Catalogs also reach foreign markets.

Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs deliver rapid aerial intelligence, accelerating situational awareness before teams arrive on scene. By providing real-time visuals, persistent overwatch, and data-driven insight, DFR enhances operational safety, sharpens decision-making, and strengthens coordinated response across high-risk, time-critical environments.

• Launches immediately from a fixed location to establish early aerial presence.
• Provides commanders and responders with a clearer operational picture before committing resources.
• Supports safer entry by identifying access routes, obstacles, and activity on the ground.
• Enhances coordination by sharing live feeds across command and field units.
• Strengthens mission continuity with automated flight paths and consistent coverage.
• Expands capability in low-visibility or hard-to-reach environments.
• Improves post-event evaluation through recorded imagery and telemetry data.

Counter-UAS systems give military and first-responder teams the ability to detect, track, and defeat hostile or unauthorized drones before they can threaten people, infrastructure, or mission success. As small unmanned aircraft become more accessible and more capable, the need for rapid, reliable airspace protection has never been greater. Modern C-UAS solutions integrate sensors, analytics, and mitigation tools to provide real-time situational awareness and decisive response options. These technologies empower operators to secure critical environments and maintain control in an increasingly drone-dense world.

C-UAS detection systems identify, classify, and track unauthorized drones in real time to give operators early warning and situational awareness before a threat can escalate.

C-UAS interception systems physically pursue and capture or disable hostile drones in flight, preventing them from reaching their intended target or causing harm.

C-UAS mitigation systems disrupt, disable, or neutralize unauthorized drones once detected, preventing them from carrying out hostile or unsafe actions.
Darley offers C-UAS solutions for dynamic, high-risk missions, integrating trusted technology to secure critical airspace with rapid detection, decisive mitigation, and reliable performance against emerging threats.

Maritime drones are reshaping how militaries and first responders monitor and secure global waterways. These autonomous and semi-autonomous systems extend human reach into areas too dangerous, remote, or resource-intensive for traditional operations. With real-time sensing, persistent surveillance, and rapid deployment, they enhance situational awareness and speed critical decision-making. Their adaptability makes them a powerful force multiplier for missions from coastal defense to search and rescue.

Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are untethered, self-guided systems that conduct long-range surveys and data-collection missions without requiring real-time human control.

Remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are tethered, unmanned underwater systems that give operators precise, real-time control for inspection, intervention, and mission support in environments too deep or hazardous for divers.

Uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) are autonomous or remotely operated platforms that conduct surveillance, patrol, and maritime support missions across the surface of the water without putting personnel at risk.
Darley delivers rugged, rapidly deployable maritime drone solutions backed by proven technology, responsive support, and operational flexibility - giving military and first responder teams a decisive edge when every second counts.

Uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) deliver rapid, reliable situational awareness across dynamic terrains. They enhance decision-making, extend operational reach, and support safer, more effective missions. From ISR to disaster response, UAS provide critical real-time intelligence that strengthens accelerates coordinated action.

Ground-based drones are reshaping how military units and first responders operate in complex, high-risk environments. These unmanned platforms provide rapid reconnaissance, payload delivery, and perimeter security without exposing personnel to unnecessary danger. Their ability to navigate rubble, tight urban corridors, and hazardous zones gives teams real-time intelligence when visibility is limited and time is critical. By extending reach and accelerating decision-making, ground-based drones strengthen mission effectiveness across every terrain.

Legged UGVs are agile, terrain-adaptive robots that traverse obstacles and environments inaccessible to wheeled or tracked platforms, providing reliable mobility for missions in challenging conditions.

Tracked UGVs are rugged, high-stability platforms designed to carry sensors, payloads, and mission equipment across rough or debris-laden terrain where wheels can’t reliably operate.

Wheeled UGVs are fast, efficient platforms capable of navigating both urban environments and moderately rough terrain to support rapid reconnaissance and payload transport.
Darley provides UGVs for demanding military and first-responder missions, providing rugged mobility, sensing, and payload capability with trusted support so teams operate faster, safer, and with greater reach.
