SPRING 2026

Hello, my name is Daphne Bird, and I am currently an architecture student at CBU. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of building and design, spending hours creating intricate worlds out of legos and discovering how imagination could become something tangible. What began as childhood curiosity has grown into a deep passion for architecture, where creativity meets purpose. and ideas transform into lived experiences. Guided by curiosity and an eagerness to create, I strive to design thoughtful, innovative buildings that positively enhance our built environment.

ALTADENA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Altadena Presbyterian Church is organized as three distinct buildings shaped by a shared geometric order, expressing how unity can emerge through relationship rather than uniformity. Each wing, such as the worship, education, and administration wings, serves a different purpose, yet all are bound by the same proportional and structural logic. This allows the whole to be felt within each part. Through light, alignment, and honest structure, the campus becomes a place where faith is both gathered and lived, grounding the community in a spatial expression of God’s abiding presence.

CONVERGENCE PERFORMANCE CENTER
Convergence Performance Center emerges from the idea that three distinct performance environments, the proscenium theater, black box theater, and outdoor amphitheater, radiate toward a shared communal core, dissolving boundaries between artist, audience, and everyday life. Thresholds become bridges between generations, layering memory and innovation so that tradition and emerging voices exist in dialogue rather than separation. The project acts as a cultural anchor for Redlands, transforming performance into a shared public ritual where community is not simply gathered, but continually renewed.
