URBAN TRANSIT HUB
In an effort to revive one of Sao Paulo’s largest cooperative urban landscapes, this transit hub provides a new urban heart of multi-modal transportation services to relieve one of the most traffic congested areas in the city. Five separate modes of transport weave in and out of the landscape to create a symbioses of urban movement. The hub encompasses the unique and playful qualities of Sao Paulo’s urban energy while catering to the transformation of the surrounding urban infrastructure. The building acts as an organism, taking notions from local flora and fauna and lives along the waters edge to capture the vibrancy of the city.

Performance Theater
Surrounded by an assortment of architectural masterpieces, Berlin’s Kulturforum is one of the biggest artistic hubs in the world. This performance theater is situated between the New National Gallery and the Berlin Philharmonic and survives as a new cultural node to the city , creating a center for performance and social gathering. The building peels up from the landscape, forming a large northern plaza and drives the user around and under the suspended cafe and gift shop; tying the northwest and southeast corners of the site together. A southern oriented outdoor stage address the adjacent New National Gallery, transforming into a bridged sequence of service spaces that drive users up to the second floor and into the main performance hall.

URBAN ECOLOGIES
CITY FABRIC REBORN
As civilizations grow, they continue to devour the natural land and resources we depend on to survive. Urban Ecologies takes a look at the juxtaposition of life and death of city and organism; and further the idea of reincarnating our fallen buildings into a new city fabric. This fabric balances the intensity of the urban anthropocene and our environmental foundations to create a symbiosis of city and nature. As buildings die, their parts and materials are piled together to create a superstructure. As time passes, living and nonliving organic matter gathers along the structure and the cycle of life takes over to create a new organic fabric to replenish our environment.

MODULAR LIVING
As prefabricated construction becomes more and more appreciated, cities are able to build much faster and more efficiently. This design for a prefabricated commune in Bay Ridge, NY, attempts to redefine prefab in the city by using an assortment of prefabricated modules that can be linked together to form custom housing units for different living styles. These units fit into a central core, forming micro towers that are interconnected by shared amenity spaces, bridges, and ramps. The experience is one that encourages social and communal living, while creating a playful balance of public and private spaces.

1 Penn Plaza serves as a dynamic urban corridor, welcoming thousands of daily commuters and visitors. This redesign of the plaza was conceived as a cohesive intervention that integrates contemporary landscape and lighting elements to activate the space throughout the day and night. At the heart of the design is a distinctive, fully operable coffee kiosk, envisioned as both a functional amenity and a sculptural focal point. The scope of work consisted of the design and development of the kiosk as well as various drawings needed for city approval through the Department of City Planning and the Department of Buildings.
This elevator rehabilitation project centered on the vertical extension of all 44 pedestrian and service elevators by one additional floor. In tandem with this extension, all elevator machinery and control systems were fully replaced to meet current performance and safety standards. The scope also included the complete redesign and outfitting of the existing elevator cabs, introducing a sleek, modern aesthetic through updated finishes, lighting, and integrated technology. Given the building’s location directly above Penn Station, the project required careful coordination with multiple agencies including approval by the New York City Department of Buildings and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
