I’d like to personally welcome each of you to the Dance Ministry Awards and Convention. It’s an exciting time for the Ministry of Dance and Christian Performing Arts, as we continue to grow and diversify, remaining always adaptable, motivated and responsive to the needs of the lost and those yearning for a spiritual breakthrough. Our organization is encountering a time of many changes and we’re meeting these changes during a time of larger nation-wide and global transitioning. The world of Mime and Spiritual Choreography is an exciting area in which to work/study/play, and we’ll continue to meet and bring inspired people together in forums like this, to ensure DMAC remains at the cutting edge. We’re transforming the way we operate to continuously improve our ability to educate and facilitate future generations of Praise Dancers. Our employees and partners have continued to meet the challenges of our field and to excel despite setbacks. We should all be very proud of where we are today and excited about where we are headed. Before I close, I’d like to thank each of you for attending our convention and bringing your expertise to our gathering. You, as organization leaders, have the vision, the knowledge, the wherewithal and the experience to help us pave our way into the future. ejelle Joi Brebnor Founder & Owner of eXalted Dance Company, LLC/ Director/Choreographer a dancer after God’s own heart. DeJelle has been dancing since the age of 2 in her native land of Trini Trinidad dad & Tobago with the Annette Alfred Dance School.
Being an active member of the Power of Faith Ministries as a youth she realized her gifts could be used to glorify her heavenly Father. She then joined Namyanka Dance Ministries of Baltimore, MD where she began dancing for the Lord and was trained in Dunham technique. She also attended Peabody Institute where she developed technical training in jazz, modern, ballet and hip-hop and has traveled to New York for the annual Pulse Tour and Broadway Dance Center with world renowned choreographers/ teachers Mia Michaels, Matthew Powell, Sheila Barker and Chris Judd. God miraculously opened many doors and through HIS favor Dejelle has been an instructor for studio Dan’s of Mariottsville, taught in the Baltimore City Public school system at Arlington Elementary/Middle School and at Baltimore Talent and Development High school through Johns Hopkins. From 2004-2013 she was the dance teacher /coach for Reginald F. Lewis High school who was VICTORIOUS in the year 2012 to win 1st place in the Baltimore City wide annual dance Symposium. DeJelle holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Science concentration in Teacher Education and a Master’s of Education Degree specializing in Teacher Leader in the 21st Century from Ashford University. She is also training under her mentor Pastor Sabrina McKenzie of Dancing Preachers International to become an Ambassador of Dance. eXalted Dance Company was birthed in February, 2014 to build the PAGE 7

Meet "Danyel Hill" The Recipient For Dance Art-Trepreneurship of the Year (Georgia)
Minister Danyel Hill, a Praise/Worshiper minister of dance for the Lord Jesus Christ, who has a passion and zeal to serve as a minister of dance movement. Danyel heard God’s call to minister in dance in 2000; She has been dancing ever since. She was ordained as a minister of Dance and teacher from God's Ordained Liturgical Dance Inc under the leadership of Apostle Pamela Grimes. She is the Founder of Dance Affections & Company the first Liturgical Dancewear store & Liturgical Dance Company in Carrollton GA where she trains, equips, and teach liturgical dance to youth, teens and adult praise dancers. Danyel is dedicated to touching the lives of her dance students who embrace the art of dance.

She loves dancing for the Lord, especially teaching. Minister Hill continues to cultivate her ministry of dance by attending and facilitating at Liturgical dance conferences, dance workshops and she hosted the first Annual Dance and Mime production held in Carrollton, GA in 2017. The production is new to the city and will continue to be an annual event held each year in December moving forward. Minister Danyel Hill resides in Carrollton, Ga with her husband Kareem Hill, along with their four children Kareem Jr, Kamari, Arianna and Zachariah Hill. Together Danyel and her Daughter minister as Vessels of Honor, a Dance outreach ministry, where they minister at conferences, community events, nursing homes, weddings, home going services and other events.

God’s Gift is a Christian liturgical dance ministry that expresses outward praise to God which encompasses all expressions of worship and praise. The purpose of this ministry is to reach the saved and unsaved through Christian music. We minister through the use of bodily movements to uplift and spread the Word of God. This ministry was established in 2011 at New Greenwood Baptist Church and currently has 15 active young ladies who’s ages range from 12-18 years old. God’s Gift liturgical dance ministry’s goal is to reach all ages while ministering without words but telling the story of Jesus Christ. We are connected to God through dynamic and fun-filled dance ministry opportunities designed just for them. God’s Gift liturgical dance ministry’s worship experience is exciting and it encourages the dancers and others to have a lasting relationship with God. One major goal of this ministry is to continually develop and minister his spoken word spiritual songs created to share the goodness of Jesus Christ. Since the organization of this Dance Ministry our hope has been to continue to partner together with parents and caregivers to develop long lasting relationships in the church and offer support in any way that we can. We realize that as we work together your children’s lives will be impacted for life by the love of Jesus Christ. God’s Gift liturgical dance ministry’s leaders are dedicated and committed to teach our youth about Jesus and His love for them through dance. DMA's Honors "FASHIONETTE FINLEY" For Platinum Dance Service Award and Prophetic Dance Ministry of The Year
Fashionette Finley is known for the dynamic dance ministry that God has entrusted her with. Fashionette began her dance journey at the very young age of 3. Although she did not understand it at the time, God chose her to carry His Glory and win Souls for Him, through her worship in the Arts. At age 11, Fashionette transitioned to leadership as a Youth Dance leader, here is when God began to deal with her in open visions and choreography. God will show Fashionette how He wanted her to illustrate the Message in a song through interpretive dance. God has truly excelled Fashionette's ministry to a great dimension.
Fashionette serves the body of Christ as an intercessor, mentor, prophetic dancer, prophetic worshipper through song, and she shares leadership alongside her husband in the Married 4 Life Marriage Ministry. She serves the kingdom of God in any way she is needed, as she sincerely has the heart to help establish Gods will in the earth. Fashionette is the founder and director of the Carrier of His Glory Prophetic Dance School where (with the help of Jesus) she mentors, trains, equip, birth out, activates and imparts into individuals who have been called to the ministry of the arts.

Fashionette Finley is married to her best friend Tyree Finley. They have three beautiful children; Zion, Cameron, and Faith. They currently reside in Miami, Florida. anifest Praise Dance Company was founded by Jessica Renee Smith on February 18, 2017. Jessica, originally from Memphis, TN co-leads the ministry in Atlanta, GA with Chelsea Banks, a Houston, TX native.

Manifest Praise Dance Company is a ministry that demonstrates the true essence of praise dance. In parallel with the definition of manifest, clear or obvious to the eye or mind, and to display or show (a quality) by one’s act or appearance, Manifest Praise Dance Company’s mission is to become physical manifestations on earth portraying what praising God looks like through dance. BIOGRAPHY María Daniel is a native New Jersey. She is a dancer, choreographer, educator and attorney. María is the creator of the Hip Hop Experience Dance Class which has been featured on NBC, CBS and 101.3 Jamz FM radio. As an Official Ambassador for the National Dance Week Foundation, María received two mayoral proclamations for her advocacy of dance. She taught at the Ballet School and is the Founder and Artistic Director of iDance Ministry.

María is known for her unique choreography and innovative fusions of dance in unexpected ways. Meet Paulette Rolle-Alesnik God has used Paulette Rolle-Alesnik as a trail-blazer, a leader of leaders, a productionist, choreographer, an author, a playwright, business owner and a woman of faith. Originally from The Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Paulette begun her theatrical training in high school then at Bass School of Theater & Dance in Nassau, Bahamas where she studied Musical Theater, Modern, Jazz, African and Bahamian Cultural folk dances.

3 Vital Reasons Punctuality should be Practiced by every Christian Performing Artist's L A T E
Point no. 1: Being punctual shows your respect to other people Punctuality is the art of respecting the time of other people. Punctuality takes effort, time and energy. It is not an accident that a person gets to a meeting place 15 minutes early. Thus, it is disrespectful not to arrive on time. You disrespect the time, effort and energy that person has invested just to be on time.
Let me make this clear to all of us: Being late does not make us an important person. Whoever we are, we simply don’t deserve the right to be late. I believe being late is an act of SELFISHNESS. You want extra time for your need, but in doing so, you are also taking the minute of other people. You simply see your needs to be more important than other people’s need. Point no. 2: Punctuality reveals your integrity Whether you like it or not, people will judge you depending on how punctual you are. If you can’t even make it on time, people will think of you as unreliable, undependable, and untrustworthy. Being on time may be a small thing for us Christians, but God will also look at the small things in our life as a basis of His judgment. For it is written in Luke 16:10. How can God entrust us His Kingdom if we can’t even keep our promise to one another. When you say you’ll be there at 8:00 am, but you arrived 8:01 am, you essentially broke your promise. How do people see us? If we have an appointment with them, do they automatically think that we will be late since it has always been our attitude? Or will they try also to be on time since they know we always keep our word? I hope when people think of us, they think of us as a punctual person. Point no. 3: Being late can potentially lead to sin We are Christians and we certainly don’t want to sin, right? However, do you know that being late can potentially lead to sin? As a matter of fact, in some cases, being late can automatically be considered as a sin. One of the Ten Commandments tells us, “You shall not steal” (Exodus 20:15). How can a simple minute of being late be equated to sin? For one, when you are late, you just stole a minute of that person’s life. That person could have done other things like studying the Bible, praying, making a living, or simply be with his or her family for a longer period of time. But instead, you just stole precious minutes from his or her life. Number two, Sin begets sin. A sin can lead to another sin. When we are late, sometimes, we are forced to make excuses while deep inside in our being and hearts, we KNOW we are the main reason we are late. We try to blame the traffic. We try to blame our broken watch, our spouse, our government, and even our dogs! When we make excuses and we know that we are to blame, we just lied to other people and not just to other people, but to ourselves. And we know that lying is a sin. Broken promises are also considered as a sin. In Psalms 15, King David asked who will be the people who will rule with God. One of the answers is a person who “keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind” (Psalms 15:4). When you said you will be there at 10 am, you essentially made an oath. The Bible tells us that you must keep an oath even to the point it will hurt you. No matter what happens, you will keep your promise. Even if this means, shorter time of sleep, shorter time of taking a bath, running to your destination, and sweating all over your shirt, you will still keep your promise. Because if you don’t have what it takes to keep a promise, then never make one. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:37, let your yes, be yes and your no be no. Why? Because whatever is more than this is from the evil one. In the final analysis, being late is not in our DNA. It is not something that we inherit. MEET JEREMY TUTT As the Positive hip hop & rnb scene continues to give birth to many artist with raw talent, few up and comers have the lyrical capabilities and delivery that Jeremy Tutt possesses. Drawing comparisons to artists such as Canton Jones with his flow, Mali Music with his authentic originality and Travis Green with is unwavering worship it's easy to understand why a buzz has been created. Stepping onto the music scene in highschool in the year of 2006 Jeremy Tutt created a organic Christian band that traveled all across the south easter region of America but he started to realize that he had a different calling on his life. In 2014 Jeremy Tutt released his first single "I wanna Be Better" that sent him all across the eastern coast and the midwest to different venues churches and clubs. January of 2015 Jeremy Tutt released his freshman album "LIFE" and it started a chain reaction. He displayed his versatility to the max for his first album. Ranging any where from praise and worship to quartet to hip-hop and r&b and traditional gospel Jeremy made a statement that he could stand on any platform. This was done not to show just his versatility but to be able to spread God's word to every age, race, and gender. 2018 Jeremy Tutt is nominated for "Contemporary Christian Music Artist of The Year" and Opened up for Briana Babineaux "Bri". TUTT is currently working on a new project "Crossroads" whose release date has not been announced. As of now he has released 2 singles "I'm Free" and "Destiny" which will be on the new project "Crossroads" which has already displayed that we will be given another versatile album. Jeremy is on the road constantly and developing as an organic artist. Building up the momentum and keeping this generation and future generation relatable music that keeps them positive and constantly evolving for the better.

Andre Crouch, he revolutionized traditional gospel music and was NOT liked when he came on the scene, but now he is considered a Pioneer of contemporary gospel.
When David danced before The Ark, more than just his wife thought that he was out of line. They had never seen Royalty behave in this way before. But he was obedient to God and pleased God with this radical expression.
Kirk Franklin was being played in the clubs because the message was put over a beat; this is a type of "going into the highways and byways and compelling them to come". No, they weren't thinking about Jesus when they heard it, BUT a seed was sown through the music and many have the testimony that they weren't raised in church and wasn't trying to go, BUT that God got a hold of them at the club through STOMP.

what ever lane we are called to, the marketplace, the arts, medicine, sports, education, government we must make Him known through the demonstration of The Word and works; we must put our trust in God, become radical and relevant to a generation that are touched through their senses. What is the name of your ministry? Mime 3 Ministry Where were you born and raised? High Point, NC What was your childhood like? I grew up in a single parent home and even though I lived in the projects, I always had a passion to dance. Even at a very early age, I enjoyed getting with other kids in the neighborhood and choreographing different routines. Eventually, we became very competitive locally and as things progressed, I assumed a leadership role within the group. What is your diagnosed illness? I was diagnosed with stomach cancer in October 2016, but I received my last chemotherapy treatment on February 16, 2017.
Would you mind elaborating some on the specifics of your illness? Technically, it was considered pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancerous) cells form in the tissues of the pancreas. The pancreas is a gland located behind the stomach and in front of the spine. The pancreas produces digestive juices and hormones that regulate blood sugar. Fortunately, it was discovered in the early stages and my doctors believed it could be rectiied with only 4 chemo sessions. But as time went on, the cancer became more aggressive and began spreading to other parts of my body. Once this happened, I ended up having a total of 8 chemo sessions but I didnt need any radiation or major surgery.
When did you realize your artistic gift what God had called you to do? Honestly, it all began at a very young age. For us, dance was our way to deal with the negative situations in our lives. So as a leader, I took great pride in sharing my joy with others hopefully providing them with a more positive perspective on life. Continued On Page 57

Do U have a favorite personal quote that you either heard or made yourself? No, I don't have a favorite quote, but my favorite bible verse is, " I can do allthings in Christ who strengthens me."

Did your mime ministry help you deal with the effects of your illness? Even though I couldn't perform or practice with the same intensity, I still attended all of the practices and events and in doing so motivated me to work harder, come back stronger and be better than I was previously. Did your ever feel like giving up and what motivated you to continue? Yes, there were many times I felt like giving up. Initially when I was diagnosed with cancer, it took some time to readjust my life and my mindset. Whenever negative thoughts would invade me, I would think of my 1 yr old daughter, Blair, or I would always receive a positive afirmation or words of encouragement from either other ministry members, friends, or loved ones. Would you tell other mime artists how important it is to have regular physical checkups? It is very important, thats how I became aware about having cancer. I considered myself to be very healthy, but one normal trip to the doctor made my life abnormal very quickly. So now, I definitely stay on task and monitor everything I do in detail according to my doctors' orders. I realized in ministry, to do God's work effectively, you have to maintain a healthy lifestyle and going to the doctor regularly helps facilitate your overall well being. Why do you think society and even some people in the church have a negative perception of mime ministry? Honestly, I believe dance and mime ministry falter because many don't understand the complexity of it and won't allow their minds to embrace something different. There are too many traditionalists in this world that dont have the patience or desire to evolve when it comes to praising God or ministering to people. Continued On Page 59

If you could give advice to younger aspiring mimes about the industry, what would you want them to know about? I would say if you're involved in a team or group ministry, your group should function as one entity with a unified purpose. Everything you do from prayer to practicing routines should be to edify the Kingdom of God. Because if everyone isnt spiritually connected, it allows the enemy to permeate your foundation and then your ministry will gradually collapse.
What do you hope to accomplish by the time you retire from mime ministry? I would love to leave a legacy that inspires the next generation to continue the ministry. We currently have a group of younger dancers called Mini Mime 3. Hopefully, they will embrace their gifts and have the desire to ascend to a higher level than us. The opportunities are endless & I'm always open for more. My purpose is to inspire, empower & encourage. I know that this is part of my calling and hope that I can reach as many young artists around the world!

You need to surround yourself with positive people that generate positive energy. Cynthia A. Newland, earned her MFA in Dance from Arizona State University, with an emphasis on choreography and performance and BFA in Dance from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.
Prior to her appointment at Belhaven University Ms. Newland served as director for New Field Dance Theater, East Bay of San Francisco. For nearly three decades she has traveled nationally and internationally as a teacher, choreographer, and performer working with varied arts organizations and institutions such as Project Dance International, CCC International, ICE Jerusalem, Intervarsity, Operation Mobilization International, International Christian Dance Fellowship, YWAM, Dong Ah Institute of Media and Arts, Hang Yang University, ERICA University and FEBC. A portion of her work and artistic endeavors has been in the realm of inclusive dance where she has created numerous choreographed works for people with and without disabilities, which have been presented in the United States through VSA International and USA International Ballet Competition. She has received recognition as a recipient of the Higher Education Awards from the Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education including the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Humanities Teacher Award by the Mississippi Humanities Council. At Belhaven University she has served on the Faculty Council and Education Advisory Council. She is a board Member of USA IBC (International Ballet Competition) and Mississippi Alliance for Arts Education, and member of ACDFA, Alabama Dance Council, CORD, Dance Camera West, NDEO, Performing Arts Medical Association and Screen Dance. Ms. Newland has also been a presenter for NASD's Annual Conferences. Currently she teaches part time at Belhaven while traveling nationally and internationally providing dance training, presentations and choreography, as well as offering equipping tools for all ages on “Nourishing the Body, Soul and Spirit”. In 2004 she begin her own group called "Blessed" and opened for J Moss and shortly after I became a part of Dy'Vine Worshippers and Holy Exhalted.
