A Letter from the President Warren Sibley What an auspicious beginning to the summer season. What seemed virtually impossible a few weeks ago: pool opening, summer camps starting, and Friday concerts, is now a reality. We are so pleased we were able to open for Memorial Day, albeit in a reduced capacity, and begin our pool service. The Governor’s new orders now allow for summer camps to begin. Our executive staff is now busy in preparations for an exciting summer. While we are not completely to a level “green” quite yet, we do want to take time to thank the membership for your flexibility, patience and words of encouragement. Our golf courses have been full and tee times hard to come by. The fact that many of you have complied with our request that all who can walk, coupled with only single riders in carts has, at times, led to a disparity in pace of play - walkers in front of carts with only one golfer. Other than a few exceptions, everyone seems to be adapting to this new rhythm pretty well. The menu has been limited due to a variety

of factors, including availability of product. However, Phil Callahan and Chef Mark Ellis have received numerous notes thanking them for the meals, creativity and service. You have also adapted to our current pool guidelines and reservations system allowing for as many as possible to use the pool while abiding by current standards. Lastly, thank you for the kind words and respect you have shared and shown our employees. Many live in multi-generational homes and their safety is not only important for them individually, but for their family as a whole. The safety of our employees and members is paramount. Thank you for your continued patience. As we move forward, we will lean on your understanding a bit more. We cannot promise that everything we do will “work” or be perfect, only that we are doing what we can to serve everyone’s best interest. Look for updates to our service and “opening schedules” as we move forward to a full and open Club. In the meantime, we hope to see you enjoying the Club!

Warren Sibley President

FROM THE DESK OF CARI CUNNINGHAM As adults we easily get caught up in the day to day grind, as we hurry about to accomplish tasks and responsibilities. It’s easy to become creatures of habit, fall into routine as priorities and obligations shift. What we don’t consider is a global pandemic to interrupt, causing us to rethink our “normal” and check in with our own personal needs. Here are some suggestions on how your Club can help you become more actively engaged and renew your zest for life! FIND A FUN WAY TO MOVE YOUR BODY While spending time on a treadmill is beneficial to your body, it’s certainly not going to help shake things up as far as your routine goes! Get with a personal trainer to motivate you a little further. You’re never too old to take a golf or tennis lesson, or even a group exercise class. Find something that you love and will look forward to each week! SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE Let’s not forget to mark the calendar for one of the most anticipated events of the year; DAC’s 4th of July Celebration! If you like music, games, an amazing variety of food, fireworks and family summer time entertainment, then this is the event for you! Have you thought about activities

to keep the little ones busy during summer break? Sign them up for one or all of our exciting Summer Camp sessions. While they are golfing and playing tennis, treat yourself to a relaxing massage from Galen. If your child prefers a more one-on-one or individual sport experience, how about a private swim lesson or joining the DAC Dolphins Swim Team to tire them out and to keep from hearing those dreaded words, “I’m bored.” Does anyone in the family have a summer birthday? Let our professional catering team plan and organize the perfect celebration. We will arrange the setup, clean up, food preparation and fun and all you need to do is show up! And may I add just one final suggestion for you to keep in mind for those lazy summer nights when you’ve reached the end of your responsibility checklist and you deserve a night off from cooking, just call in your curbside “to-go” order and we will gladly have it ready for pick up on your way home! So what are you waiting for? Let us help lighten your load by enhancing each unique club experience that will contribute to your pride in belonging and joy in participating. Find something new and be enlivened today! Cheers!

KEVIN NETTLES, SUPERINTENDENT COURSE CONDITIONS This spring both our Blue and Gold Courses are in good condition. We have seen a few areas that are filling in slower than others from the winter months. These areas include the Gold Tee Boxes, as well as bunker faces on both courses. Since the ground temperature has warmed up, we have seen very good recovery.

Our weed control has had good success this spring and we look forward to future improvements in our herbicide treatments. Earlier this season, we applied a Fire Ant treatment that has eliminated most of these pests. We have planted several thousand square feet of Tiff Tuff Bermuda Grass which has superior shade and drought tolerance. All the areas on the courses that need grass have been identified and then prioritized beginning with the areas that effect play the most. This will be an on-going process and we will continue with more planting next spring.

UPDATED POOL RESERVATION PROCEDURE We are happy to announce an updated Pool Reservation Procedure.

Our goal is to reduce the number of reservation no-shows, along with opening up more options for our Members. On May 31st, we will cease accepting reservations for one week. This will allow the next seven days of reservations to be consumed. On Sunday, June 7th at 9:00 AM, we will open reservations for Tuesday, June 9th through Sunday, June 14th. This will allow Members more flexibility and a choice of 18 different time slots over six days. This procedure will then repeat itself every Sunday morning.
