With their last albums being titled “Daydream” and “Cheers!,” Ballyhoo! produces summertime grooves perfect for blasting through the open car window. The blend of rock and reggae with a dash of pop and punk categorizes the group alongside bands such as Slightly Stoopid, Pepper and 311. band formed in 2010 in Washington, DC. Seductive lyrics and juicy, upbeat tunes place the band in a genre that Wojcik calls “aquawave,” dance beats produced by strong keyboarding, lyrical electric guitar and richly emotional vocals.
