We are also aware not everyone can be back yet, and we appreciate the support of our fans who will be watching the live stream and hope we can give you something to cheer about.

On Tuesday we had the long trip to Weymouth, but it didn’t seem as long on the way home once we had won. I thought we played well on the night, scored some good goals and in truth, should have had some more. It was a performance that we now have to build on as we look to move up the league table.

On the injury front, we have Joey Jones and Callum Reynolds getting closer and joining in

with some parts of training. We hope to have them available for the FA Trophy game and back for our busy Christmas period. Matt Robinson and Andy Eleftheriou are both back in full training after both being in isolation because of a Covid issue. I’d like to say congratulations to Robbo and his girlfriend Tameaka on the birth of their daughter Aria from everyone here at the club. Finally, I hope you all enjoy being back in the ground today. THE OPPOSITION

THEROBINSI MEET THE TEAM 1 - Tony Thompson Talented young goalkeeper Tony joined Alty in the summer of 2017 after appearing in several pre-season games. After initially acting as an understudy to Tim Deasy, he soon established himself as Phil Parkinson’s first choice goalkeeper and was a key part of the EvoStik title winning squad.

Recent History: In 2020-21 Altrincham FC play in the Vanarama National League, following promotion from the National League North, via the play-offs, at the end of the 2019-20 campaign. Before that Altrincham FC had spent a total of 28 seasons at the national level (Step One) of non-League football in four spells at that level.

Before joining the Robins, Tony had began his career with Rotherham United. He gained experience on loan out at Curzon Ashton, Ossett Town, Chelmsford City and Southport. He later transferred to Morecambe where he made two professional appearances before making the move to Chester and then AFC Fylde from where he went out on loan to Warrington Town.

In 2016 they had suffered their latest relegation from Step One and this was followed by an immediate relegation to Step Three the following season. However, the appointment of manager Phil Parkinson and his assistant Neil Sorvel had secured the NPL title in 2018 and an unsuccessful play-off place in 2019 before promotion in 2020. The Club continues to operate as a parttime team. Historically, Altrincham had been founder members of the Alliance (forerunner of the Football Conference) from its inception in 1979 until they were relegated in 1997. In fact, they won the Alliance in its first two seasons, only being denied elevation to the Football League by the vagaries of the re-election system in place at that time (1980 and 1981).

2 – Andy White Andy is another player to have featured under Phil Parkinson at Nantwich, although he joined after a spell at Southport. Most comfortable at leftback, Andy showed his versatility by operating at both centre back and left back for the Robins. Whilst at Nantwich, Andy had been named player of the season on three consecutive occasions, as well as being named in the EvoStik team of the season in 2016 and 2017. 3 – Connor Hampson Left-back Hampson joined Alty on loan from Stockport County, before joining permanently shortly after. Also capable of playing in midfield, he also filled in at centre-back for the end of season run in, helping the team to promotion.

Before joining Stockport, Connor had played for Curzon Ashton for six years. Prior to his spell at the Tameside Stadium, he had played under future Curzon manager John Flanagan at Mossley from the age of 16. 4 - Ritchie Sutton Ritchie joined Altrincham in the 2019/20 post season after leaving Morecambe in June 2020. He can operate as a centre-back or a full-back. Ritchie began his career at Crewe Alexandra, and while he did not play for them, he did enjoy loan spells at fellow Non-League sides Leek Town and Stafford Rangers. He left Crewe in 2007 and signed with Northwich Victoria before stints at Halifax Town and Nantwich Town. Ritchie signed for Tranmere Rovers in May 2015 and was loaned out to Barrow in March 2016. He was part of the Tranmere squad that guided the club back to the the Football League in 2018. After a stint at Morecambe he finds himself a Robin, ready to contribute his wealth of experience and ability to our first season back on the National stage. 5 – Tom Hannigan Tom is the only remaining Alty player to have been signed by Neil Young. A dependable centre-back, he initially struggled with a series of injuries, before returning for the end of season run-in, helping the Robins earn promotion.

Tom began his career with Tranmere Rovers before playing for Vauxhall Motors and AFC Fylde. At Fylde, he was named “Player of the Season” by his manager. 8 – Sean Williams Midfielder Sean is in his second spell with Alty, having spent a season with the Robins in the Conference Premier under Lee Sinnott in 2014. Hard working and tough tackling, Sean showed his ability whilst playing for Alty's title rivals Warrington Town last season Prior to his initial spell at Altrincham, Sean had played for Stockport County, Vauxhall Motors, Hyde, Skelmersdale United, Halifax Town and Colwyn Bay. After being released, he signed for Hednesford, then joined AFC Telford before playing for Warrington. 10 – Josh Hancock Attacking midfielder Josh followed Phil Parkinson to the club from Nantwich. He began the season by scoring four goals in the first six games and provided good competition for Jordan Hulme for the coveted position of top goal scorer. Josh began his career in Nantwich’s youth team before playing for Winsford United and Witton Albion. He later had a spell with AFC Telford before returning to Witton. He then played for Salford City before joining Nantwich once again.

11 – Yusifu Ceesay Pacey forward Ceesay joined Alty on loan from Blackpool in February 2019. Fast, strong and skilful, Barcelona born Ceesay quickly demonstrated his ability to the Alty faithful. After beginning his career with Sporting Khalsa, Ceesay joined Alvechurch before earning a big move to Blackpool. Loan spells followed with Nuneaton, Boston and Telford prior to his joining the Robins. Yusifu then rejoined Alty for a second loan spell the following season, 2019/20. His second spell on loan was cut short following successive hamstring injuries. Yusifu signed full terms for Altrincham in the 2019/20 post season, joining officially in August 2020 ahead of the 2020/21 season. 15 - Matty Kosylo Kosylo joined Alty from FC Halifax Town. The winger has previously played for AFC Fylde and is a tricky player who can confidently play on either side. The 28-year-old has also turned out for a number of clubs, including Natwich Town, Droylsden, Ashton United and Salford City. 20 - Shaun Densmore Shaun is the longest serving player on Alty’s books, having signed for the Robins on a one-month contract all the way back in September 2008!

Central midfielder Jake originally signed for Alty in 2012 on a 93-day loan, but his impressive performances in the centre of the park soon earned him a permanent deal. Since then, he has filled in at a number of positions, taken the captain's armband and even had a brief spell as caretaker manager! Perhaps his most memorable moment in an Alty shirt came in 2015 when he scored a 30-yard lob against Colchester in the FA Cup. Prior to joining Alty, Jake had played for Port Vale, Stafford Rangers, Kidsgrove and Alfreton. DAGGERS.CO.UK

Shaun Densmore

Despite a series of injuries, he has amassed well over 350 appearances playing mostly at right back, but also at left back and in midfield, Shaun has stuck with the club through four relegations and three promotions. At the age of 29, he has never made a senior competitive appearance for a club other than Altrincham.

Josh Hancock

Although mainly a central midfielder, he has sometimes been deployed on the right side either in midfield or defence. Throughout his time with the Robins, Simon has always been one of the fittest and most determined players at the club.

Before joining Alty, Shaun was with Everton’s academy. His father Peter also played for Altrincham in the 1980s. 23- Tom Peers Forward Tom joined Alty in 2017 and established himself as something of a “super sub” often coming off the bench to score. He scored 11 times in his first season and provided an extra option on the wing or up front for the Robins. Tom began his career with Chester City, progressing from the youth team to the first team before gaining experience during spells on loan at 1874 Northwich, 08 THE DAGGER

30 – Simon Richman Simon is a hardworking and powerful midfielder who joined the club in the summer of 2011 as one of Lee Sinnott's first signings.

Marine, Salford City and Hednesford. Following his departure from Chester, he joined Hednesford before moving on to AFC Telford. Later, he played for Warrington and Droylsden before joining Nantwich. He spent the summer of 2018 on loan from Alty to American side New Orleans Jesters.

Simon began his career in the Football League with Port Vale, making 48 appearances between League One and League Two. In 2008-09 he was Vale's young player of the season. Following his departure from Vale, he had a brief spell with Worcester City before joining Alty. He has also represented the Great Britain Universities side, helping them to a silver medal in the World Games in 2013.

TED HARDY

WE ARE EXTREMELY SADDENED TO HEAR THAT CLUB LEGEND TED HARDY PASSED AWAY ON THURSDAY 3RD DECEMBER, AGED 91

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to his widow Chris, his daughter Beverley and his son-in-law, Neil. Tedâ€™s playing career began at Arsenal where he played for the club in the Eastern Counties League.

He then played for Leyton Orient, Blackpool, the Army Southern Command, Wealdstone and finally Leyton, where he sustained a bad knee injury which ended his playing career.

As well as managing Dagenham three times and Dagenham & Redbridge, Tedâ€™s first managerial position was at Leyton, where he won the Athenian League Championship. From there, he joined Dagenham, where he took the Daggers to the final of the London Senior Cup, only the third amateur club to reach this stage in 60 years. The Daggers were defeated by West Ham over two legs. During this spell, Ted took Dagenham to two Amateur Cup finals at Wembley against Enfield and Skelmersdale United, but after losing both, he resigned as manager in 1971.

From Dagenham, he joined Bishop Stortford, where in 1974, he went one better by winning the Amateur Cup, defeating Ilford 4-1. In the Blues defence that day was none other than John Still.

Over the coming years, Ted managed Enfield on two separate occasions, as well as Leytonstone, before returning home to

Victoria Road in December 1981. The following year, Hardy led the Daggers into their first season in the Alliance Premier League (now known as the National League).

During his second spell at Dagenham, he got very close to another return to Wembley, losing in consecutive seasons in the FA Trophy semi-finals. From Dagenham, Ted moved to Hendon, Leytonstone and Ilford. A third spell at Enfield was followed up with a third spell at Dagenham. His final managerial position was here at Dagenham & Redbridge, where he was to lead Dagenham & Redbridge to their first visit to the home of football, losing 1-0 to Woking.

An incredible 23 years since his previous visit to the home of football, and the fourth time in his long career.

Ted continued until his retirement at the end of the 1998/99 season. Upon his retirement, Ted was made a life VicePresident at Dagenham & Redbridge and was a regular visitor to matches up until the last few years, where sadly, illness prevented him from attending. In 2017, after the refurbishment of the clubhouse, the main function room was named in his honour. A true great in amateur football and a Daggers legend who will never be forgotten.

Hardy sadly passed away last week, aged 91, and his daughter Beverley will be present today as we honour a true great in amateur football. We have also received details of Ted's funeral, which will take place on Thursday 17th December at City of London Crematorium South Chapel at 12:30pm. Under current government guidelines, only

30 people are allowed into the chapel, but there will be room for those who wish to pay their respects to stand outside and loudspeakers will allow you to follow the service. There will be a bucket at the chapel that will be collecting donations for dementia research. GOOD AFTERNOON AND WELCOME FROM THE CHIGWELL CONSTRUCTION STADIUM! Looking back at our last match here against Notts County, I thought it was a really good point, especially as we had played 120 minutes in our previous match in the FA Cup against Mansfield. Notts also had a couple of days extra rest and it's one of those games that we will look back on at the end of the season and think that it was a good point. In the first half we really had to dig in and defend as a team but in the second half I think we showed a little bit more attacking quality and had some chances, but to summarise, it's a good point against a strong team that will no doubt be up there at the end of the season. The Aldershot game was very disappointing. In the first half every single player was a million miles off it and we deserved to come in at half time 2-0 down. We were actually very lucky not to be 4 or 5 goals down because we really were poor in the opening 45 minutes. The Gaffer gave us a talking to at half time and told us to win the second half, which is what we did, and we should have perhaps at least got a point and maybe had enough chances to even win the game. The Gaffer expected a reaction going into the Weymouth game and we all know as players that we let ourselves, the club and the fans down with our performance in the first half at Aldershot, so we needed to try and redeem that at Weymouth. I think we showed heart, desire and 14 THE DAGGER

determination in the game on Tuesday night to come away with the win. It was disappointing to go 1-0 down, but the lads showed great character to get the two quick fire goals and get us in front. I like to use my energy and get up the field when I can and that's especially possible when Dean (Rance) is sitting in the holding midfield role. Thankfully I was able to win a penalty on the night and I also grabbed an assist for Mitch Brundle which I was really pleased with. Looking at today's opposition, Altrincham have had a very good start and have almost shown a fearlessness having been promoted from the National League North. However, I think we need to focus on our own performance and make sure we do all the things that we did right against Weymouth and try and grab back-to-back wins in the league. We're delighted to have the fans back in the ground this weekend and on a personal note, I can't wait to play in front of you all once again. I've had to wait a little while and I know I speak for the rest of the players that we can't wait to hear you cheering us on this afternoon. Please follow the guidelines and enjoy the match! Elliot Justham failed to collect a cross and Josh McQuoid had the easiest of tap-ins to give his side the lead.

The Daggers weren’t behind for long, as a loose ball inside the area found its way to Mitch Brundle, who placed the ball into the top corner.

Daryl McMahon made three changes from Saturday’s defeat to Aldershot Town, as Myles Weston, Dean Rance and Darren McQueen came into the Starting XI.

And a minute later, the east Londoners were in front, as Will Wright burst down the right side and found Paul McCallum in the right place at the right time to tap the ball into the net.

Will Wright drew a foul on the edge of the Terras area with 10 minutes gone in the contest, but the free-kick struck a man in the wall and bobbled away for a corner.

The second half began with Darren McQueen looking menacing, as he had a number of efforts that were saved by Baycroft in the Weymouth goal.

And it was McQueen who had the game’s first real chance, as he fired over from the edge of the penalty area.

The home side took the lead with 15 minutes gone in the contest.

Things went from bad to worse for the home side, as Josh Wakefield saw red just before the break after a shocking challenge on Darren McQueen.

The Daggers continued to go about their work professionally, as they

controlled possession against the 10 men of the Terras.

On 71 minutes, the away side added a third. Abu Ogogo was fouled inside the area, and Mitch Brundle stepped up and slotted home. The east London side were enjoying possession, with Dean Rance dictating the playing from deep in midfield.

However, Weymouth got back into the game, as Jake McCarthy headed in a corner to set up a nervy final 10 minutes for Daryl McMahon’s side. Thierry Henry is my favourite player of all time and someone I tried to be like growing up. We're similar in the way that we cut off the wing and look to shoot. I've met him at an Arsenal game when I was 10 years old and he signed a football for me!

When I was in the youth team at Tottenham, we played against Liverpool and they battered us 5-0 or something very similar. Raheem Sterling tore us to pieces and if I remember correctly, he scored at least four of those goals.

DARREN McQUEEN Daggers forward Darren McQueen spoke about our previous three matches and his aspirations of nailing down a place in the starting XI in this week’s interview. He started by dissecting our match against Notts County last time out at Victoria Road.

“Looking back to the Notts County game, it was a good test against tough opposition. I think as a team we did really well to nullify the threats that they have in the forward areas.

“Although we didn't really create too much, we were very strong defensively and picked up a well-earned clean sheet, which is something we've been very good at over the last couple of matches. “

The Daggers were hoping to follow up a good point with another good performance against Aldershot Town, but Daryl McMahon’s side slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the EBB Stadium.

The first half at Aldershot was very poor. However, taking the positives from the game, Rancie (Dean Rance) and Westie (Myles Weston) came on and made a huge impact in the second half.

“I also felt that when I came onto the pitch, I added an extra spark that had been missing from the match. That's what I based my game around and I feel that if we have started the game like that, we would have won it comfortably,” he said. A reaction was needed against Weymouth, as the Daggers made the long trip down to Dorset and claimed all three points at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

“The first 5 or 10-minutes were very difficult against Weymouth. They controlled the ball well in the early stages and got the goal to put them ahead, but the lads showed great character to get back into the game with the quick-fire goals, something that has somewhat eluded us in recent weeks.

“The sending off was a major factor in the game as well. You would say for 70 minutes of that match we dominated and controlled possession and the play, which is sometimes difficult to do when you're playing away from home,” he added

“It was a little bit nervy in the final 10 minutes, but we hung on to three very important points that we will be looking to build on this afternoon. “

McQueen has had to wait patiently for his opportunity since arriving from Dartford in the summer, but he feels as though the chance is upon him and he’s looking forward to the challenge of nailing down a spot.

“I'm really pleased to get the opportunity to stake a claim in the starting XI. I've been working really hard and training and I've never dropped my standards.

“I've been waiting patiently for this opportunity and then it was up to me when the gaffer called me onto the pitch at Aldershot to go and make an impact. I feel as though those minutes that I got was my chance to show the fans and the manager why I should be in the starting 11.” McQueen is yet to open his account for the Daggers but is striving to continue to perform well and feels that the goals will come naturally. “The goal would have been a cherry on top of my performance on Tuesday evening, but I keep telling myself that as long as I keep performing to my best and keep getting the minutes under my belt the goal will come, I’m sure then they'll start flowing. “My main target at the moment is to keep my shirt and keep that place in the starting XI, as well as giving 100percent for this football club,” he said. The 25-year-old also gave his thoughts on this afternoon’s opponents…

“Altrincham are in a good run of form and have started the season really well. It's going to be a tough match and potentially similar to the Weymouth game, as they do try and play out from the back, so we have to be wary of that. “I feel as though if we put on the same performance that we did against Weymouth and then build on that as well, then we can beat anybody in this division,” he added.

BEST PLAYER PLAYED WITH Obviously, Tottenham had some great young players when I was coming through, but I'd have to say Harry Kane because of where he is now. He was a couple of years older than me, but I got to play with him a few times. He always scored goals but now his allround game has come on so much since then. Daggers manager Daryl McMahon made two changes for the start of the second-half with Sam Deering and Angelo Balanta being replaced by Myles Weston and Dean Rance.

The visitors had the first big opportunity of the second period which they failed to capitalise on.

Mitch Brundle had his effort cleared off the line by Giles Phillips with the ball then being crossed into Paul McCallum but he headed over the bar.

Panayiotou had the first chance of the second-half for the hosts but his shot was right at Justham.

DAGENHAM REDBRIDGE FELL TO A 2-1 DEFEAT AGAINST ALDERSHOT TOWN AT THE EBB STADIUM.

It was the hosts who took the lead after seven minutes when Mohammed Bettamer broke in behind the Daggers’ defence and then saw his deflected shot find the far corner of the net.

Aldershot nearly doubled their lead when Toby Edser’s shot from 20-yards out drifted just wide of the far post.

The Shots had another chance when Shadrach Ogie’s cross found the head of Harry Panayiotou but his header was comfortably saved at Elliot Justham.

Danny Searle’s men did add their second of the game with just over half an hour gone when Bettamer’s header across goal found Panayiotou who tapped in from close-range putting the hosts in cruise control.

Chike Kandi’s nearly added Aldershot’s third after a fine move from the hosts, but he dragged his shot wide of the goal

The Shots were able to maintain their two-goal lead heading into the interval as the Daggers would have work to do in the second half if they were to get anything from this contest.

Kenny Clark then had a chance for the visitors but his header was saved by Brad James. It was Brundle’s turn to be denied by James, as he looked certain to score, the Shots’ goalkeeper stood tall to deny the midfielder.

The Daggers made their final change with just over 20 minutes to go as Darren McQueen came on to replace Scott Wilson.

The Daggers had another chance to pull one back but McCallum failed to get the ball past James again, the Shots then countered; however, Joseph Hungbo’s shot deflected wide.

The hosts then had a chance to seal the game, first through Hungbo who saw his shot well saved by Justham and then Josh Rees’ effort drifted wide. James was forced into another save, this time from Daggers substitute Rance. The Daggers finally got their goal in the 89th minute when Rance headed in a cross from the left-hand side as to score against his former club.

The visitors came close to equalising when Brundle’s header went narrowly wide as the Daggers continued to chase an unlikely point. Despite a late spell of pressure, the Daggers were unable to find a second goal and fell to a 2-1 defeat at the EBB Stadium.
