We’re looking to build on Tuesday’s win this afternoon as we enter the festive period. The players showed fantastic togetherness and a real work ethic to get us over the line and travelling home with all three points.

The FA Trophy is a chance for the players to get to Wembley and is a competition we will be taking seriously. We want to win every match that we play, regardless of the competition and we want to make sure we build some momentum heading into our over fixtures over this period so that we start the new year as high up the table as we possibly can be.

We are very disappointed that you can’t be here to cheer us on this afternoon. It was great to have you back with us last weekend and I hope that it won’t be too long before you are back in the stands and pushing the team on.

DENNIS KUTRIEB - Manager Very highly regarded coach recruited from the Berlin football scene by the Fleet in June 2020. Dennis first found success in management with VSG Altglienicke, who he took from the Berlin League to the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nordost. His next move was back to TeBe, who he led to the Berlin Cup Final and second position in the league in 2018/19.

In 2019/20, he topped the tough fifthtier NOFV-Oberliga Nord with TeBe when Covid shut the season down, with the club later confirmed as champions and promoted to the fourth tier – a third promotion in a short period for the manager. Kutrieb’s side scored 61 goals and conceded just 17 times before shutdown occurred and leading German football publication Kicker anointed him with the title of ‘Erfolgstrainer’, a rare honour saved for the brightest up-and-coming managers across all divisions. That alerted the Fleet to his talents and Kutrieb eagerly accepted a move to England.

THEPLAYERS I THE FLEET 1 TOM HADLER - Goalkeeper The Canterbury-born goalkeeper arrived at the club in July 2020. A product of the Gillingham Academy, he spent more than six years at Priestfield. The young keeper has plenty of experience at non-league level, too, having had loan spells with the likes of Folkestone Invicta, Tonbridge Angels, Gloucester City and Grays Athletic. Having progressed to being secondchoice goalkeeper at Gillingham, he moved on to Eastbourne Borough in 2019 where he immediately made the No.1 shirt his own, playing 22 games. 2 TOBI ADEBAYO-ROWLING Defender The versatile defender signed professional terms with Posh in 2015 playing five times at the beginning of the 2015/16 season. He then played more than 60 times for Sligo Rovers and then Cork City from 2016 to 2018. In his first season at Sligo, he just missed out on Europa League

qualification. The speedy defender returned to England in the summer of 2018, starting the season with Bromley before moving on to Eastbourne. 3 BOBBY-JOE TAYLOR Defender/Midfielder A former England C international who began his senior career with Cambridge United. Taylor played eight times for the U’s before joining Maidstone and winning promotion from the National League South in his first season. After more than 70 appearances for the club, moved on to Aldershot Town and Bromley. He signed for Dover last season becoming a key fixture for the Whites and signed for the Fleet in August 2020.. 4 SEFA KAHRAMAN - Defender One of two players who made the move from Germany alongside manager Dennis Kutrieb, the Berlin native started out with Hertha

Zehlendorf before turning out for Werder Bremen’s U19s and Bundesliga II side. He was with Berliner AK07 in Germany’s fourth tier before moving to Kutrieb’s club Tennis Borussia Berlin in February 2018 where he was instrumental in back-toback promotions. 5 BEN FREMPAH - Defender A centre-back who began his career with Fisher and Cray Wanderers and also played in Charlton’s U18 side before being spotted by Leicester City scouts and moving up seven leagues to the King Power Stadium in 2013. After leaving Leicester in 2014, Ben moved on to Ross County in the SPL. Since leaving Scotland, he has also turned out for Hendon, Solihull Moors, Guiseley, Wycombe and Wingate & Finchley. 6 JAKE GOODMAN - Defender Goodman was a Millwall youth player, and after gaining plenty of senior experience on loan with Staines Town, Luton Town, Aldershot Town and finally AFC Wimbledon in League Two, Goodman spent the 2015/16 season with Margate. The following season saw him move on to Braintree Town and then a season with South champions Maidenhead United for their first campaign in the National League, helping the Magpies to the highest position in their history. He moved on to Bromley in 2018, playing 22 times for them before joining the Fleet in July 2020. 7 ADAM MEKKI - Midfielder The skilful left winger signed professionally with Aldershot Town in 2009, playing in League Two for them across four years until brief spells at Barnet and Dover Athletic. He signed for Tranmere Rovers in summer 2015 and played for two seasons at Prenton Park, helping Rovers to runners-up spot in the National League in 2016/17. Mekki was snapped up by Bromley in June 2017, featuring 37 times in the league for the Ravens in his

first campaign before joining the Fleet on loan in January 2020 and then permanently. 8 JOSH PAYNE - Midfielder Josh first signed for the Fleet on loan from Crawley Town in October 2019, staying for the season and then signing permanently for the club this summer. A former England C international, he was captain of West Ham United's U18 team and made two Premier League appearances for the Hammers. He moved on to Doncaster Rovers and then Oxford United where he stayed for two years, playing for Aldershot Town on loan before a permanent move to the Shots in 2012. Spells with Woking and Eastleigh in the National League followed before he returned to the Football League with Crawley. 9 RAKISH BINGHAM - Striker An experienced and versatile striker, Bingham arrived at the Fleet in September 2020 having most recently helped Dundee United achieve promotion to the Scottish Premiership. The forward has a strong background north of the border, having played for Falkirk and spent two seasons in the SPL with Hamilton Academical. He started out with Wigan Athletic’s

academy, and a loan spell at Hartlepool United turned into a permanent move and where he spent the 2015/16 season. Bingham moved back to Scotland in 2016 with Hamilton and signed for Doncaster Rovers in League One last season, moving on to Dundee United on a short-term deal in February 2020. 10 MICHAEL WEST - Midfielder Now in his third spell at the Fleet, the fans’ favourite progressed through the club’s youth side. His breakthrough season came in 2010/11, ending it with 23 goals, including six in a successful play-off competition. Another fine season in the Conference followed and he was snapped up by Crewe Alexandra. Injury robbed West of the chance to make a go of League One and he returned to the Fleet in 2014. Another bad injury curtailed his appearances in this second spell and after a loan with Whitehawk, he signed permanently for them in 2016. Subsequent moves to Chelmsford City and Eastbourne Borough followed before rejoining the Fleet again in July. He has played more than 160 games for the club, scoring in excess of 30 times.

11 LEE MARTIN - Midfielder The club captain is a hugely experienced player who has turned out at the highest level. He signed for the Fleet in July 2020, just a month after helping guide Exeter City to a League Two playoff final at Wembley. Martin started out at Manchester United, who paid Wimbledon an estimated £1m for his services as a youth player, and he rose through the ranks alongside the likes of Gerard Pique, Jonny Evans and Ryan Shawcross. Roy Keane paid £1.5m to bring him to Ipswich Town in a permanent move where he played more than 100 times across a four-year spell with the Tractorboys. His career took him on to Millwall, Northampton Town, Gillingham and latterly Exeter City. 12 JORDAN HOLMES - Goalkeeper The Sydney-born goalkeeper signed for the Fleet in August 2019. He played for Rockdale City and Sydney United at youth level in his homeland before moving to England to sign for Bournemouth in 2013. He captained the Bournemouth U23s and played 18 times for them in his penultimate season before moving into the SPL with St Mirren on loan in January this year. 14 IFFY ALLEN - Midfielder The winger signed for the Fleet in August from Maidstone. The South Londoner has Football League experience with Barnet and Yeovil Town, and he spent three seasons in the National League with Torquay United, Aldershot Town, Wrexham, Bromley and Braintree Town. A quick and direct wide man, Allen also had spells at Wealdstone and Dulwich Hamlet before signing for Maidstone at the beginning of last season, where he scored six times in 26 games. 15 GREG CUNDLE - Striker Cundle came through Gillingham’s youth ranks playing eight times for the Gills at that level, also appearing on loan for East Grinstead Town, Tilbury, Margate, Billericay Town, Bishop’s Stortford and Kingstonian, scoring 26 times in 60 games across those spells. Following his release by Gillingham, he returned to East Grinstead, where he was the club’s player of the year, scoring 20 goals in 25 games.

16 WILL WOOD - Defender Wood joined the Fleet in August 2020 from Dagenham & Redbridge. After signing a three-year professional deal with Southampton, he moved on to League Two champions Accrington Stanley for the 2018/19 season. He played in League One and then joined Havant & Waterlooville on loan playing eight times. 18 ALFIE EGAN - Midfielder Alfie left AFC Wimbledon in summer 2019 to sign for the Fleet. He came through the Dons’ youth ranks, making his League debut in 2016. He appeared 28 times for the club and also represented Sutton United, East Thurrock United and Kingstonian on loan. The busy, industrious midfielder can also play as an emergency rightback. 19 REECE GRANT - Striker A September 2020 signing from the Daggers, the forward began his career at Wealdstone, Hillingdon Borough and Uxbridge. In 2016/17 he scored 26 goals for Heybridge Swifts and his success continued at Braintree Town the following season where he helped fire The Iron to promotion to the National League. Having netted 17 goals for Braintree, he was signed by Aldershot in autumn 2018/19, scoring eight goals. 21 JACK PAXMAN - Midfielder Signed in September 2020 the creative midfielder spent eight years with Southend. He joined Chelmsford City aged 19 signing for Maidstone in March 2015, helping the Stones wrap up the Ryman League title that season. Paxman spent almost five seasons in

total with Maidstone, playing regularly in the National League for them, amassing more than 150 appearances. 22 BEN CHAPMAN - Midfielder A former Crystal Palace youngster, Chapman turned professional at Gillingham, rising through the youth ranks and being handed his senior debut in 2017. He rejected a new contract at Priestfield in favour of firstteam football and joined Dulwich Hamlet in the summer of 2019. After a season in South London, he signed for the Fleet in July 2020. 23 CHARLIE ROWAN - Defender Charlie is a versatile player who began his career with Watford as an U15 and moved to QPR in November 2018, going straight into the club’s U23s and was rewarded with a contract extension at Loftus Road in summer 2019. The 6ft 1in Londoner spent time last season on loan at Barnet and was also with Accrington Stanley when they were promoted to League One. 24 CHRIS SOLLY - Defender Yet to make his debut, the former England youth international full-back signed earlier this month after spending 11 years with Charlton Athletic. In his time at The Valley, Solly won two promotions and played more than 300 times in the Championship and League One. He was voted Young Player of the Year and Player of the Year in the same season at Charlton in 2011/12 and won Player of the Year again the following season. Solly departed Charlton this summer and joined the Fleet on a mutually beneficial arrangement to return to fitness and help the club on the pitch. DAGGERS.CO.UK

We take on Ebbsfleet United in the Buildbase FA Trophy and it’s a good chance to build on Tuesdays win over Torquay United at Plainmoor

It was a battling performance full of heart and character from the boys. In the opening 45 minutes we got at them and had a couple of really good chances. The goal was well worked from Westie after a great ball out from Rance. Paul got up well and headed it in and could have had another later on in the half. I think we limited them to very little in the first half, which is credit to how well we were moving the ball around the pitch and making sure that we defended as a unit. After the sending off the game changed, and we had to dig in deep and defend well in the second half. The whole team worked really hard to get the win over the line, including the lads that came off the bench.

When you look back on the fact that we travelled on the day, played against the league leaders who hadn’t lost at home for a very long time and got the win whilst having a man less for the majority of the match, it’s a fantastic result. We’ve shown what we can do when we play to our full potential and give everything out on the pitch, and we need to make sure we continue that into this festive period, starting today.

We know that Ebbsfleet will come here as the underdog being from the league below and they have a couple of lads who were here last season. We done our work on them this week and we’re fully prepared for the match. The visitors had the first opportunity when Darren McQueen crossed into McCallum who headed over the crossbar.

The Gulls’ first opportunity of the contest came when a dangerous ball was whipped in from the right-hand side; however, it missed everyone in yellow and put behind for a corner.

The league leaders were inches away from taking the lead when a corner was headed off the crossbar by Gary Warren. Moments later, the Daggers took the lead when Myles Weston’s dangerous cross was emphatically headed in by McCallum.

McCallum continued to be a nuisance in the Torquay area and had another opportunity from Eleftheriou’s cross which he put over the bar. Daryl McMahon’s men came close to doubling their lead again, first McQueen’s shot was denied by Shaun MacDonald, and then McCallum’s follow up shot came back off the post.

The Daggers were reduced to 10 men with just under five minutes to go in the first-half when Mitch Brundle was shown a straight red card. Weston’s long-range free-kick was comfortably saved by MacDonald.

This was all the action of an interesting first half with the Daggers leading away to the

league leaders but would have the task of defending their lead in the second period with a man disadvantage.

The hosts had the first opportunity in the opening couple of minutes of the second-half when Aaron Nemane’s ball through to Billy Waters was denied by Justham. The Daggers’ keeper was required to deny Nemane this time as the hosts continued to pile the pressure for a leveller.

Randell’s cross found the head of Wright who was denied again by Justham who was being kept busy between the sticks for the visitors.

The Gulls came close again when a cross into the area deflected off Daggers skipper Ogogo but luckily Justham denied the ball creeping in for an own goal.

Somehow, the hosts failed to draw level with arguably their best opportunity of the evening right at the end of the game, as a corner into the area was volleyed wide from Ben Whitfield. It was Waters’ turn to come close for the Gulls, but his header went wide of the post as the Daggers survived again.

Despite the man disadvantage, the Daggers managed to hold on for a huge victory against the league leaders handing Torquay their first loss in 11 league outings.

LIAM GORDON

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE ANNOUNCED THE RETURN OF FULL-BACK LIAM GORDON ON THURSDAY, WHO RE-JOINS ON LOAN FROM BOLTON WANDERERS.

The 21-year-old left the Daggers in the summer to make the step into the Football League, having cemented himself as a firstteam regular with the east Londoners. Gordon played 54 times for Dagenham in his first spell, scoring three times, including an impressive brace in a 4-4 draw with Boreham Wood in January 2019. Whilst with the Daggers, the defender also made his debut for Guyana, which included participating in the Gold Cup in 2019, where he faced off against the USA in their opening fixture. Gordon has made 15 appearances for the Trotters so far this season but has not been involved in the starting XI for the past month and has therefore returned to east London in search of first-team football. Manager Daryl McMahon commented; “It’s great to have Liam back with us. We fought hard to keep him and kept in touch while he was at Bolton. He’s a player the fans I’m sure will be delighted to have back. “He is wholehearted, hungry, and will improve our squad on and off the pitch,” he said. We are delighted to welcome Liam back to Victoria Road, and hope that he can help the team move up the table whilst back in east London.

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE PLAYED IN FRONT OF SPECTATORS FOR A LEAGUE MATCH AT THE CHIGWELL CONSTRUCTION STADIUM FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE MARCH, ALTRINCHAM DEFEATING THE DAGGERS 1-0 IN FRONT OF A CROWD OF JUST UNDER 800. There was one change to the side from the victory over Weymouth midweek with Scott Wilson starting in place of the suspended Paul McCallum.

It was the home side who had the first real moment of the match, with Luke Croll heading into the hands of Tony Thompson from a cross, before Darren McQueen had his shot blocked on the edge of the area. The Robins created an opening for Matty Kosylo with the winger getting in behind the Daggers defence, only managing to drag his shot wide off the target. Daryl’s side came ever so close to taking the lead just before the half-hour mark. Kenny Clark’s header looked to be going over the line before Joel Senior cleared off the line keeping the scores goalless.

The opening goal did come in the 39th minute, Jake Moult tapping home from a free kick which the home side failed to clear giving the visitors the lead at the break.

Half-time substitute Angelo Balanta came close to an equaliser for the home side shortly after coming onto the pitch with the Daggers fighting hard to get back into the game.

With the home side looking to keep up the pressure, Weston had the next real chance for the Daggers. After being given time to move forward down the right-hand side, he cut inside onto his left-foot but could only fire wide.

The Essex side were pushing hard and a superb cross from Weston was inches too far in front of the onrushing Scott Wilson and Angelo Balanta inside the six-yard area. The pressure did not stop there, Mitch Brundle did well to keep the ball in play at the by line, but Thompson was on hand to collect the low cross. Kosylo had a chance late on to double Altrincham’s lead but got caught in two minds, toe-poking wide from close range after being given room to run into the area.

Although the missed opportunity mattered little for the visitors who held out for the win with the Daggers unable to capitalise on the pressure they put on the Robins during the second period.
