Knowledge is light and this light itself is Pure Soul. It cannot be compared to anything in this world because there is no other thing like Pure Soul. Soul is only the Seer of this entire world. To believe, I am Chandulal (reader to substitue his/her name), I am her husband, I am his father are all wrong beliefs. It is only when these wrong beliefs are fractured that the right belief of 'I am Soul' sets in. Pure Soul is always in its natural state. Your belief of 'I am Chandulal' charges karmas. After attaining this Knowledge, you realize your true Self and thats when new karmas stop charging. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan says we give 5 Agnas and remaining in those 5 Agnas keeps you in constant awareness of your true Self.
