Celebrating 50 Years
of Neonatology Dartmouth Health Children’s is a leader in the care of sick and premature newborns. The pediatric subspecialty of neonatology is a relatively new practice of medicine, and Dartmouth Health Children’s has been at the forefront of the care of sick and premature newborns from the beginning. As the first neonatologist in New Hampshire, George Little, MD, was a pioneer in the field, building the neonatal program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) from the ground up, starting in 1972.
