Broward County Public Schools Named a Best Communities for
Music Education Six Years in a Row
The Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award is a signature program of The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Foundation that recognizes and celebrates school districts and schools for their support and commitment to music education and efforts to assure access to music for all students as part of a well-rounded education. Since the 2019-2020 school year, Broward County Public Schools has received this recognition for 6 consecutive years.
The All Broward County Honor Music Concert Series
The All Broward County Honor Music Concert Series is a 4-night event. It consists of Concert Bands, Orchestras, Choirs, and Jazz Bands. Broward County student musicians and their clinicians rehearse for several days as an ensemble and then hold their performance here at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
All performances are free, open to the public, and start at 6:30 PM. Tonight is the second performance in our series. The first performance was on January 28, 2026, by the All Broward County Honor Bands. Our third performance will held on February 24, 2026 by the All Broward County Honor Jazz Bands. The final performance in the series for the 2025-2026 school year be February 25, 2026 featuring the All Broward County Honor Orchestras.

We are excited to announce that we will be holding the Second Annual Elementary Music Showcase Concert on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Charles W. Flanagan High School. Please join us and see what Orff music is all about.
Florida Music Education Association
All-State Music Ensembles
Every year, the Florida Music Education Association (FMEA) holds the All-State Music Event in Tampa, FL. It is a host to 23 All-State Ensembles featuring Florida's top Band, Orchestra, Chorus, Guitar, Orff, Digital Music and Popular Music students conducted by world-class conductors and teachers. It is attended by more than 10,000 people, including secondary music directors, elementary music teachers, music supervisors, college students, college music teachers, school administrators, K-12 students performing in the All-State ensembles, students and professional musicians performing with invited performing ensembles, exhibitors, and parents and family members of performing students.
Over 235 student musicians from Broward County participated in the All-State Ensembles. We are proud to recognize and award our Broward Chorus, Orff, Popular Music Collective & Digital Music students who participated in the All-State Ensembles. These students will be recognized throughout the concert. Congratulations to these outstanding musicians.

Conductor Jared Doyle
Jared Doyle is an accomplished music educator, choral director, and performer who is thrilled to serve as the 2026 Broward All County Elementary Honor Choir Director. A proud alumnus of Florida State University, Mr. Doyle earned his Bachelor of Choral Music Education, where he developed his passion for cultivating young voices and fostering musical excellence. His commitment to inspiring students through music has made him a respected leader in the South Florida choral community.
Mr. Doyle currently serves as a Choral Director at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, where he directs all choirs ranging from 2nd through 12th grade. Under his leadership, his ensembles have consistently earned Superior ratings at Florida Vocal Association (FVA) District Competitions, and over a 100 of his students have been selected for prestigious AllState and ACDA Honor Choirs over the last decade. His work at Pine Crest reflects his belief that choral music education builds not only musicianship but also community, discipline, empowerment, and confidence in young singers.
Before joining Pine Crest, Mr. Doyle was the Music Teacher at Floranada Elementary School, where he directed a variety of ensembles, including the World Music Ensemble, Recorder Club, Ukulele Club, and Falcon Chorus. He also served as Musical Director for several acclaimed school productions, including Disney’s The Lion King Jr., Mulan Jr., Aladdin Jr., and Madagascar Jr. Other roles he has held include Associate Director of the Florida Singing Sons Boychoir, Music Teacher at Westwood Heights Elementary, Voice Instructor at School of Rock, and Choral Director at Cypress Bay High School.
In addition to his work as an educator, Mr. Doyle maintains an active performing career as a sought-after bass soloist and section leader with numerous South Florida choirs, including the Master Chorale of South Florida and the Pink Church of Lighthouse Point. As PastPresident of the Broward County Elementary Music Teachers Association (BCEMTA), he continues to advocate for high-quality music education and professional collaboration among educators.
By nurturing their passion for music through creative, engaging direction and heartfelt mentorship, Mr. Doyle’s guidance helps students discover their unique voices and build lasting confidence in their musical journey.

Conductor Catherine Briggs
Catherine Briggs, a choral educator with over 20 years in Palm Beach County, inspires young musicians to achieve excellence. Her choirs consistently earn top ratings at state and district festivals, perform at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Vatican City, and were featured at the 2023 Florida ACDA Convention. She currently is a Choral Director at Bak Middle School of the Arts and holds degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University and Florida Atlantic University and a Kodaly Certification from Silver Lake College. Ms. Briggs also conducts for the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches and cofounded Espressivo, a non-profit that provides vocal arts scholarships and expands choral music access. She actively adjudicates, leads professional development workshops, and conducted the Palm Beach County Elementary Honor Choir at the Kravis Center. She is a member of NAfME, ACDA, and FVA.

2026 Superintendent's Advanced Academics Studio Art Exhibition
Broward County Public Schools and the Coral Springs Museum of Art are pleased to present the “2026 Superintendent's Advanced Academics Studio Art Exhibition!” The exhibition showcases original artwork of 2025-2026 high school Advanced Academics Studio Art students. The physical exhibition will be on view at the Coral Springs Museum from March 4, 2026 to March 21, 2026.

Conductor Dr. Erynn Millard 2025-2026
Dr. Erynn Millard is the Director of Choral Activities at Florida International University in Miami, where she teaches choral literature and conducting. She also conducts the FIU Concert Choir, leading the ensemble in distinctive performance experiences, including a
recent headlining presentation of Cantata Criolla by Venezuelan composer Antonio Estévez for FIU’s Latin American Choral Festival, a recurring event celebrating the university’s Hispanic heritage. The choir engages in a wide array of performance opportunities, recently appearing on a concert recording and album with Puerto Rican reggaeton artist, Yandel.
Dr. Millard’s conducting engagements have taken her across the globe, with performances in Tokyo, Japan; Panama City, Panama; Puebla, Mexico; Santa Cruz de la Sierra and Misión San Xavier, Bolivia; San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain; and Frankfurt, Germany. She frequently presents at conferences in the U.S. and abroad, with recent appearances at state level conferences in Virginia, Minnesota, North Dakota, Florida, and Georgia, as well as international presentations in Brussels, Belgium; Munich, Germany; and a panel appearance in Taipei, Taiwan.
She earned her Ph.D. in Choral Conducting and Music Education from Florida State University, studying with André Thomas, Kevin Fenton, and Judy Bowers. She also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music from Old Dominion University, where she studied with Nancy Klein. Before her work in higher education, Dr. Millard taught K–12 music for ten years in the Newport News City School District in southeastern Virginia. Before her move to Miami, Dr. Millard was the Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Choral Music Education at Minnesota State University in Northern Minnesota.
Beyond campus, Dr. Millard maintains an active professional life as both a conductor and performer. She sings with the Festival Singers of Florida, a professional-level ensemble, and has been featured as a conductor in concerts throughout Mexico and, most recently, Japan. Locally, she performs with the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami and frequently collaborates with guest artists and orchestras. She recently co-prepared a chorus performing Neptune from The Planetswith conductor Daniel Harding and the Cleveland Orchestra.
