olour City Creatives (CCC) located at 2b Peisley Street will be hosting an art exhibition ‘Mixed Dozen’ throughout Wine Week with the grand opening on October 13 from 10am-4pm. The exhibition will include the latest works of local artists with the theme revolving around Orange and its produce. Helping kick off this year’s ‘Mixed Dozen’ exhibition is long time CCC supporter and owner of one of the region’s oldest vineyards, James Sweetapple of Cargo Road Winery. “The Wine Week Festival is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to experience three of the Orange region’s best offerings; its wines, food and its arts. “The Colour City Creatives since their conception in 2009 has grown to become a welcomed cultural fixture on the Orange region’s art scene, offering artists a studio space, exhibition opportunities and support. “This holistic approach in support of the arts helps not only artists but expands the cultural structure of the Orange community as a whole. This year the group will be presenting their latest works in an exhibition featuring a wide range of techniques appropriately titled, ‘The Mixed Dozen’,” said James. Over forty artists will be exhibiting and there will also be workshops available for those wanting to learn a little more about art. Fayah McKenzie will be giving her demonstrations on Saturday October 13 from 11-3pm and the following weekend October 20-21 from 11-3pm. Fayah is a lover of mosaic’s and all types of artistic representations. She is also a member of the painting groups The Wild Women of Arkaroola, and the Wilderist Inc. Come along to the exhibition to appreciate the wonderful talent that we have in Orange and to help celebrate Wine Week. The exhibition will be open from 10am-4pm on October 13-14 and October 20-21.

Ten-time ARIA Award recognised You Am I front man, Tim Rogers is set to command the stage in a rare stripped back solo appearance at The Greenhouse of Orange that’s guaranteed to be more than a sentimental journey of his 90’s indie hit songs. The highly-charged, commanding presence of You Am I front man Tim Rogers is to be stripped back in an almost brutally honest, rare live ‘n’ intimate appearance in his classic
indie rock style. Well known as a headline act of Australia’s best music festivals in the 1990’s, and renowned for delivering fantastic live shows, Tim Rogers continues to explore new territories to keep the creative juices flowing. Rogers’ explorations of interior landscape were released in the form of the autobiography ‘Detours’ last year. As true musician, he prefers keeping a full diary than

an empty one - keenly involved in theatre shows and tours when not travelling the country and internationally to perform solo, with friends, and in You Am I. Of course, you can expect amazing You Am I hits like ‘Heavy Heart’ and ‘Berlin Chair’ but brace yourselves for more potency from a showman such as Tim Rogers. Perhaps a plaid suit, maybe a matching baker boy hat or ruffle shirt as a costume greeting from the tall, wiry 6-foot-something can’t-miss-himman as he takes the stage to emotionally purge. Tim’s packing an acoustic guitar for this show, but still expect explosive rock’n’roll posturing to undoubtedly subconsciously connect with and take away. It’s a bit of a coup to have a musician of Tim Rogers’ calibre available for Orange; which is believed to be leading to The Greenhouse of Orange live ‘n’ intimate series establishing itself within the regional music scene. When the lights are down, and conversation flows in the ambient atmosphere of The Greenhouse of Orange’s Wine Bar, there’s a perfect setting to channel into the intimacy of this solo show and relate to this decorated artist and musician on a human level.
