For almost 20 years I worked in Emergency Services at United States Steel as a patrol officer, firefighter, and medic. In 2012 I made the decision to take a transfer into an office to be able to be home more because I was working 16-hour day 6 days a week and I was missing out on a lot of my daughter's life. I was a single mom at the time so I needed to be able to take her to singing competitions and her sporting events, plus I needed to just be a better mom in my opinion.
