"Traveling to conferences has been one of the most meaningful parts of my experience as a research assistant, where I've been able to present our teams research, exchange ideas, and see how shared curiosity connects people globally. Going to Japan for ISHA this year also gave me a new perspective on what collaboration and community in science really mean, I think it can serve as a reminder to us all that research is a collective effort that benefits from different cultural perspectives.” -Bri Rowe, Research Assistant
"Conferences offer valuable opportunities for research staff to share their work, learn from peers, and build meaningful connections. Each year at ISHA, I come away with new insights and inspiration for future projects. Engaging in thoughtful discussions with colleagues fosters the collaboration and innovation essential to advancing medical research.” -Lauren Heylmun, Research Assistant

Reflecting on his fellowship experience, Dr. Reynolds fondly recalls operating with Dr. Vidal, where he gained a unique nickname, as well as challenging Dr. Bravman to music trivia in the OR. His advice for future fellows is to “learn who
to not operate on,” emphasizing that while surgeons naturally want to operate, the true skill lies in knowing when to counsel patients away from surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Reynolds spends most his time with his wife, Kimberly, a gynecologist and partner in a private, all-female-owned practice, as well as their 3 children – Olivia (10), who loves soccer, basketball, and volleyball, Liam (9), who enjoys golf and pickleball, and Noah (6) who loves golf, soccer, and Roblox. Whether at the soccer field, on the golf course, or traveling with his wife, he values the balance between his professional and personal life.
