CU Sports Medicine at the AOSSM conference From July 9th to the 12th, several CU Sports Medicine team members attended the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) annual conference in Seattle, WA, joining sports medicine colleagues from across the country for a weekend of learning about the latest research and insights in the field.
Highlights of the AOSSM conference Dr. Eric McCarty served as president of this conference. Additionally Dr. Rachel Frank and Dr. Armando Vidal served as program chairs. Dr. Sourav Podar also received the inaguarl 12th man award for his contribuations to the feild. Several other CU sports medicine providers and staff were also in attendance, speaking, presenting and teaching at the conference.

CU Sports Medicine on the Floor: Dr. Sweeney Serves as Head Physician for USA Gymnastics Nationals
Dr. Emily Sweeney served as the head women’s team physician at the USA Gymnastics National Championships in Phoenix, AZ, August 3-10. She worked with a team of physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists and a psychologist at this event. This is the final competition of the year for the junior and senior elite gymnasts that are named to the National Team.
UCHealth Athletic UCHealth Athletic Training Training Outreach Partnerships Outreach Partnerships UCHealth continues its strong partnership with Cherry Creek School District and Littleton Public Schools, providing athletic trainers to all 9 secondary schools across both districts. The program is supported by 11 fulltime and 6 part-time Athletic Trainers. UCHealth also partners with physicians from CU Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to provide sideline coverage at varsity home football games.
