Accept our invitation to explore the SOUNDS OF THE NEIGHBOURHOOD. We encourage you to step inside, take a deep breath and open your eyes, as all is not what it seems. A storm is brewing!
The neighbourhood’s last recorded thunderstorm that did ultimate damage, was back in ’87, and with it followed rumours, gossip and secrets. So, you could think that not much has happened since, well, tell a white lie, it’s not the only thing that is the talk of the street.
You see, down our street, in our neighbourhood is a house. Not a picturesque or homely house, but quite the opposite. A house that has been abandoned for many years. Visualise it, a haunted house: creaky floorboards, broken windows, and the unnatural silence that envelops a strange house, as this is where our story takes place.
What the neighbourhood doesn’t know, is that there are some newcomers to the cul-de-sac, who are they? And are they part of the plot that is about to unfold?
Inspired by Stranger Things, A Haunted Mansion and a spin on a stereotypical haunted house, our devising process this year brings a new level of imagination. No strangers to devising, this cast from Fullhurst brings a collective story of mystery and suspense, rhyme and reason, through a focus on sound, sound effects, physical theatre and monologues. What a journey they have been on to bring this tale to you today!
