WELCOME TO WORSHIP
CANTICLE Will There Really Be a Morning — Ricky Ian Gordon Will there really be a “Morning”? Is there such a thing as “Day”? Could I see it from the mountains if I were as tall as they? Has it feet like Water lilies? Has it feathers like a Bird? Is it brought from famous countries of which I have never heard? Oh some Scholar! Oh some Sailor! Oh some Wise Man from the skies! Please to tell a little Pilgrim where the place called “Morning” lies! SCRIPTURE — 2 Corinthians 6:1-13 This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God. FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST • JUNE 23, 2024 • 11:00AM

OFFERTORY Consecration — John Ness Beck Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee; take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love; take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my voice, and let it sing always, only, for my King. DOXOLOGY #95 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow — OLD 100th Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise God, all creatures here below; praise God above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

PRELUDE GREETING OPENING PRAYER O God, your never-failing providence sets in order all things both in heaven and earth: Put away from us, we entreat you, all hurtful things, and give us those things which are profitable for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

HYMN OF PROCESSION #110 A Mighty Fortress Is Our God — EIN’ FESTE BURG

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. Amen.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING God of all creation, source of every blessing: you have given us so much. As we bring our tithes and gifts to you this day, these seem so small by comparison, unless we see that we are truly called to give ourselves back to the world. May we be the ones who bring value in relationship with those around us. May we be the ones who show your light to the world. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, who came to help us see all we could be. Amen.
