GREETING INTROIT

PRAYER OF DEDICATION Almighty God, giver of every good and perfect gift, teach us to render to you all that we have and all that we are, that we may praise you, not with our lips only, but with our whole lives, turning the duties, the sorrows, and the joys of all our days into a living sacrifice to you; through our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

All That Hath Life and Breath — René Clausen All that hath life and breath praise ye the Lord. Shout to the Lord, Alleluia. Praise Him! Laud Him! Alleluia.

OPENING PRAYER Gracious and merciful God, create in us a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within us. We come before you, knowing that you are a God of compassion and unfailing love, and we thank you, Lord, for your grace and your mercy. Restore to us the joy of your salvation and uphold us with a willing spirit. We call upon your Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts, our words, and our actions. May our worship today be a reflection of our love and gratitude for all that you have done for us. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

HYMN OF PROCESSION #160 Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart — MARION

INVITATION TO COMMUNION Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess before God and one another. CONFESSION AND PARDON The congregation is invited to follow the communion liturgy beginning on page 12 of the hymnal. THE GREAT THANKSGIVING THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. RECEIVING OF ELEMENTS

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

MUSIC AT COMMUNION Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether — Harold W. Friedell Draw us in the Spirit’s tether, for when humbly in your name, two or three are met together, you are in the midst of them;alleluia, alleluia! Touch we now your garment’s hem. As disciples used to gather in the name of Christ to sup, then with thanks to God the Father break the bread and bless the cup, alleluia, alleluia! So now bind our friendship up. All our meals and all our living make as sacraments of you, that by caring, helping, giving, we may be disciples true. Alleluia, alleluia! we will serve with faith anew.

GLORIA PATRI #71 Glory Be to the Father — GREATOREX Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

CLOSING PRAYER Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit, to give ourselves for others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
