At Creative Technology, we are proud to play a key role in the world of sports production. Since the 1980’s we have been supporting the sports marketplace providing video, audio, lighting and technical solutions for live events, competitions and installations around the world partnering with manufacturers, brands, leagues, venues, federations, countries and global organizations. Together with our parent company NEP, our equipment, solutions and personnel can be found onsite at major sporting events every day of the week.

Eurovision Song Contest

As the Official Event Supplier of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, we at Creative Technology got to deliver all audio, lighting, and video technology to the spectacular event in Malmö, Sweden.

With months of prepping the technology, days of building the set, and a week full of rehearsals and shows at the Malmö Arena culminating to an extraordinary Grand Final, this year’s Eurovision Song Contest‘s technical outcome was a true showcase of the best event technology expertise there is.

In this case study we want to highlight all the three segments, audio, video and lighting technology, and the cutting-edge technology manufacturer partners, that were a crucial part of the success of our technical delivery. Now, let’s dive deep into our event technology solutions, and how our team at Creative Technology delivered the technical spectacle to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.

Audio FOH

Eurovision Song Contest 2024 was mixed through two Stagetec Avatus consoles fed from two Stagetec Nexus Matrices provided by Creative Technology with the help of Stagetec. With almost 100 channels of audio needing to be processed, FOH engineers Mattias and Pontus, delivered a crisp and clear mix that engaged the entire arena.

At the Eurovision Song Contest, EBU and SVT collaborated to create a groundbreaking uncompressed IP video solution. The setup featured redundant systems with top-of-the-line media servers, Panasonic Kairos KC2000S1 for essential capabilities, and 10 Megapixel Helios LED processors receiving ST 2110. This system achieved a world’s first for live broadcasts.

Lighting

We deployed the largest MA3 Control system in history, including 19 Consoles, 21 PU-X Processors, 96 MA3 8-Port nodes, and 10 Luminex Node4 for outputs from the Follow-Me system. The network included 50 Luminex Switches, a 10GB fiber ring, and 42 16XT switches. The systems engineering team monitored the entire network with Luminex Araneo software and real-time logged all consoles in the network.

• Shure AD600D’s for monitoring in conjunction with Wireless workbench software

• Cubes - 460 m² ROE Vanish V8T transparent LED panels

• Back Wall - ROE BQ4 LED

• Floor - 86 m² glass-topped ROE Black Marble 4

• Sticks - 1300 meters of ROE Strip

• Automated Pods - 3×3 Ayrton Rivale, a single GLP JDC-1 and an outline of 3 Claypaky Tambora Linear fixtures

• Infield Pods - 12pcs of 4×4 Matrix sections with Martin Mac One and Roe Strips

• MT Truss - 12 Linnear trusses in between the main LED wall and the center stage area

• Key Lighting - 52 Robe Forte HCF, 14 T2 Profiles and 61 T1 Profiles in the Greenroom.
