Since 1989, the students of Stanislaus State have produced Penumbra, the journal of literature and art in the English Department.
Working with a faculty advisor, they solicit poetry, fiction, and visual art, including photography, from writers and artists in the Central Valley and from around the world.
Students design, arrange, edit, and even contribute their own work to Penumbra, celebrating the publication annually with a spring book launch — an event that is free and open to the entire academic community and to the public at large. We are proud to present Volume 35 of the journal.
