Established in 2002, CSUCI is the youngest of 23 CSU campuses.
With 15,000+ alumni and 7,000+ students either preparing for their careers or already engaged in the workforce, CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) students are prepared to become leaders and engaged citizens who help solve today’s societal problems. It is the mission of our Employer Relations team to engage with employers providing part-time/full-time employment opportunities, and/or experiential learning opportunities for our students and alumni while fostering sustainable partnerships. Partnering with Career Development & Alumni Engagement (CDAE) increases our Dolphin network by cultivating a distinctive community of students, alumni, and employers to develop meaningful connections between all areas.

Signature Events CAREER KICKOFF OPEN HOUSE CDAE starts off the semester with an Open House at the Career Development Center on campus.This is an engaging way for students, alumni, and industry partners attending to network, learn about the services we provide, and meet our CDAE staff.
EMPLOYER TABLING For immediate recruitment needs with a high-touch option, your organization can host a table at the Employer Spot outside the busy Bell Tower building once a semester to help fill open positions while branding your organization and enhancing your visibility at our campus.
CAREER & INTERNSHIP FAIR Our fairs are an ideal opportunity for employers to market their organization and recruitment for open opportunities with over 1,000 CSUCI students and alumni attending our fairs. Through your participation our students and alumni have the opportunity to discover careers, engage with industry professionals, form new connections, and build their networks.
MENTORSHIP NIGHT Join us for this unique event that matches students and alumni with industry professionals. Mentors and mentees will meet and share their experiences, offer important advice, and help to build networking skills. A panel discussion will follow with an open networking reception.
DODGER DAY Join the Alumni & Friends Association for the annual Dodger Day! Bring your friends and family for a fun day of Dodger baseball and CSUCI pride! Plus, tickets include a FREE CSUCI Dodger Day t-shirt.
Real World Experience INTERNSHIPS CDAE welcomes experiential learning opportunities for CSUCI students from employers offering internships that offer monetary compensation or academic credit. Internships are valuable experiences in which students can apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting and foster their development while making industry-specific connections. CSUCI adheres to the Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act.

HANK LACAYO INSTITUTE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM The Henry L. “Hank” Lacayo Institute for Workforce & Community Studies (HLI) invites Ventura County employers to become a partner with the HLI Internship Program. The program provides undergraduate CSUCI students with a paid handson experience in an occupational setting related to their field of interest and/or major while providing local employers with talent-in-training. The institute is supported through philanthropic gifts.

Partner with CSUCI EVENT SPONSORSHIPS Event sponsorships are of considerable value to CDAE. Organizations can engage with our campus, students, and alumni by providing resources and/or support for students, alumni, and CDAE staff development related to special events, including conferences, forums, etc.
DOLPHIN CORPORATE PARTNER PROGRAM The Dolphin Corporate Partner Program provides exclusive opportunities to our partners to enhance your recruiting efforts and brand recognition at CSUCI. Dolphin Partners enter into a collaborative partnership and receive professional assistance developing effective recruiting strategies and programming while maximizing branding of your company among our students and alumni. Dolphin Corporate Partners receive exclusive access for student engagement and career connections to promote their company to CSUCI candidates.
INFORMATION SESSION An information session is an opportunity to engage with students and alumni interested in learning more about your organization. This intentional outreach provides organizations a platform to provide recruitment information, application insight, industry information, etc.

EMPLOYER SPOTLIGHT A high impact opportunity to highlight your organization is to participate in our Employer Spotlight program. By hosting students at your organization for a tour and company meet-and-greet, you will have an opportunity to interact with students of a particular major or interest in your industry.
COFFEE AND CAREERS Held throughout the academic year, CDAE collaborates with employer partners as we explore the labor market, recruiting trends, career readiness, all while branding your company and helping our students and alumni over coffee!
