HOW TO APPLY FOR A LAST DOLLAR GRANT

CLASS OF 2026

ABOUT THE LAST DOLLAR GRANT

The Crosby Scholars Last Dollar Grant is a need-based grant of up to $1,200 per school year. If eligible, you can receive a Last Dollar Grant for up to four years of undergraduate studies to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

You are eligible to apply for a Last Dollar Grant if you:

Have completed the Crosby Scholars Program

Have a cumulative weighted GPA of at least 2.0

Have completed the FAFSA

Plan to be enrolled in a full-time, undergraduate degree-seeking program

If citizenship requirements prevent you from completing the FAFSA, please email finaid@crosbyscholars.org for instructions on how to apply for a Last Dollar Grant.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Acceptance Letter Financial Aid Offer FAFSA Submission Summary from the college/university that you plan to attend from your completed 2026-27 FAFSA Form from the college/university that you plan to attend

ACCEPTANCE LETTER

Congratulations!

This is your letter or email from the college or university to inform you that you’ve been accepted for the 2026-27 academic year.

You may have more than one acceptance letter. If so, be sure to upload the one for the school you plan to attend!

FINANCIAL AID OFFER

Your financial aid offer is a letter from your university that details the amount and types of financial aid your school is offering to you. This can include student loans, scholarships, grants, and work study.

This document is most often made available in your college account, but it can also be mailed to your home address or emailed.

NOTE: Each school’s financial aid offer may look different, but the overall concept and information are the same.

FAFSA SUBMISSION SUMMARY

Your FAFSA Submission Summary contains your Student Aid Index (SAI), information about your Federal Student Aid eligibility, and your FAFSA form answers.

Your FSS is made available to you at StudentAid.gov after you and any contributor(s) have completed and signed your FAFSA form and it has been processed.

You do not have to upload the entire FSS, but we must be able to see your Student Aid Index (SAI) in order to process your Last Dollar Grant application.

Visit StudentAid.gov and log in to your account with your (the students) StudentAid.gov account.

You can take a screenshot of your FAFSA Submission Summary, or you can save it as a PDF document.

To save as a PDF: Click “Print This Page” Choose option to save as PDF.

COMMON APPLICATION MISTAKES

Your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS) is missing the Student Aid Index (SAI). We need the your SAI to process your application!

Financial Aid Offer doesn’t show all grants, scholarships, and loans being offered to you. We need all financial aid being offered to you for the entire school year to process your application!

Your acceptance letter and financial aid offer aren’t from the same institution.
