Jamie Vardy may well top the Premier League’s goalscoring charts with nine goals after 10 gameweeks, but it is Maddison who tops several of the statistical tables for Brendan Rodgers’ team. The former Norwich City playmaker is very much a ‘high risk, high reward’ player with his style of play. For example, no one has committed more fouls than the 22-year-old’s 15, however, on the flip side, no one has been fouled more than Maddison’s 22. With three goals in the opening 10 league games, Maddison is on course to better his seven-goal haul from the last
campaign. And it is no surprise that two-thirds of his goals this season have come from long range, with Maddison posting the most shots from outside the box (16 – Youri Tielemans is second on 15), and the attacking midfielder has had 28 shots in total, again a table-topping stat for Leicester City.
