ruise-ability, comfort and coolness best describes all four of our IRON MAN winners. What did they have to do? They just had to make all 7 Stops on our Lucky 7 Tour. Real simple: Get in the car, turn the key and drive to each stop, and check in at the our tent so we know you made the trip! Yes, there was a lot that went to 4 or 5, but these four made all 7 stops last year! Thanks to these die-hard cruisers for coming out to each one of our stops in 2016!

This is my 1930 Ford Coupe. It has a Small Block Chevy Engine with Aluminum Heads, Roller Rockers & Cam. It is built from the ground up.

My son Doug and I competed and built the car in two years. We did everything that was done, except for the interior and trans. It has a 355 Chevy Engin and a 350 Transmission. 1935 Chevrolet Master Coach

This is our 1935 Chevrolet Master Coach. It took a tilt bed truck and two pick-ups to get it home. The body wasn’t on a frame, the frame had no suspension on it. Had to put suspension on the frame to mark center of spindles and rear end on frame. Box frame from radiator to under firewall. Walker radiatior. Height’s Mustang II suspension. Budget engine rebuilders ‘73 Chevy 350 CI. 73 350 turbo transmission with shift kit rebuilt by Broadway Ernie, Farrell PA. 74 Pontiac Ventura rear end. I put new bearings and seals, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and lines. Autometer gauges, Ron Francis wiring, Gennie Shifter floor shift, poly gas tank from Yogi’s, parallel leaf spring kit from Chassis Engineering. '35 Ford 3-Window Coupe Marilyn & Dave Wilkinson
The Cruisin Times Lucky 7 Tour was on my “Bucket List” so I went to all of the locations & saw cars & places I would have never seen if I wouldn’t have been on the tour. Our favorite shows were Lowellville on the River & Hot Summer Nights in Beaver, Pa. I was at a car show with my ‘36 Ford 3-Window Coupe, & saw this nice ‘35 Ford 3-Window Coupe pull in that I had never seen before. A friend of mine & I looked it over & really like it. A few weeks later, I heard it was for sale so I called the owner and bought it on the spot. I owned a ‘35 3-Window coupe in 1957 and its been sitting in storage for many years, but its not for sale, so when I heard this ‘35 was for sale I had to have it. It has a 350 Chevy Engine and Trans, Portage Trim interior & a Mustang II front end. The steering was hard so I added an electric assist power steering last winter. My wife can drive it now and we sometimes take both the ‘36 and ‘35 to Cruise-Ins. May 2017 ~ Cruisin’ Times 13

he month of June marks the true beginning of the Summer cruising season in Eastern Northern Ohio. Like the rising of the sun or the wetness of the rain, the middle of June brings the anticipated Downtown Willoughby Cruise-In! This has been a very popular gathering point for hundreds of Northern Ohio’s finest hot rods, muscle cars and classics for years! With two new bands this year (Ricky & The Rockets, and The Sensations), numerous food vendors, hundreds of hot rods, and most of the restaurants on the main street opened, the day is complete! It starts with organized parking in the afternoon and goes on til 10pm. Rocco Vitalone, one of the team of organizers of the cruise, said that the car count at the 2016 Willoughby Cruise-In topped 480 people movers of all types, styles and years. The 2017 Cruise Committee is now finalizing organization of the Twenty-Second (That’s 22nd!) Annual Downtown Willoughby Cruise- In!!! Remember, it’s on Saturday, June 17th, 2017 from 4pm to 10pm! 1960 Cadillac Convertible Mike Solon, Oh. This is my 1960 Cadillac Convertible. The car has 39,000 actual miles, it’s all original, the car was never painted, the interior and everything about the car is original. The car was in upper state New York most of its life and I am the third owner.
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Jack Strongsville, Oh. My 1969 Corvette has been a long & expensive restoration-mod journey. Originally a 427-390 HP coupe with approximately 70k miles. Reliability concerns for the 427 paved the way for the 502 GM Crate Engine. The 502 built (600HP) was too much Horsepower for the Frame of the car which was rusted and Broke in front of the rear wheels. After locating the another frame the build continued. We discovered the Front windshield frame and Rocker Panels were rotted and needed replaced. Years moved along since I started in 1995 & the front clip was modified to add the cowl induction hood & change the fenders to eliminate the vacuum wiper cover. Willwood brakes were added to enhance the stopping ability and a 700 R4 transmission added for highway driving. I chose the color scheme because I did not want just another red, blue or black Corvette. In the end, the Journey has awarded me with a beautiful car, that is FUN to drive, and gets a lot of compliments, even before I open the Hood. Hope to see you on the road sometime. There were a lot of trials and tribulations in building this car. But I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. 24 Cruisin’ Times ~ May 2017

1981 Chevy Silverado James Slippery Rock, Pa. I have owned this 1981 Chevrolet Silverado C10 pick up for 25 years. Was purchased in South Carolina and driven home using 6 quarts of oil. I took the truck apart and started rebuilding everything. Engine is now 400c.i. / 380hp., Overdrive transmission and 3:70 posi rear end was next. New doors, fenders, hood, bumpers, grille, tires and wheels were added. New interior was completed by a local custom shop. Paint was done by Bob’s Paint & Body; Akron, Ohio. Power windows, locks, tinted windows, A/C and cruise were installed. Still tweaking little things but does anyone ever finish one of these? Really enjoy driving every day during the summer months.

1966 Mustang Coupe Will Uniontown, Oh. This is my 1966 Mustang Coupe. It has been a 3 year project and my first vehicle restoration. I did most of the work myself, including a new interior and engine rebuild. Done Right Engines did the machine work for the rebuild. It’s a mildly built inline 6 cylinder, with headers and a Waldron’s dual exhaust system. Also, the car has a T-5 transmission and a custom(4 lug) 8” rear end with 4:11 gears. The racing stripes, hood scoop and front spoiler are the most recent changes, completing the exterior. We love taking the car to local shows and cruise-ins, and look forward to the upcoming show season.
