Crossroads at Delta is pleased to welcome two new staff members. Amber Lorimor joins our team as our Activities Director and will work hand in hand with Activities Coordinator, Edith Keating. Haylee Chamblin is joining the team as our Concierge. Amber and Haylee both consider Delta home, Amber having lived here for 15 years and Haylee for 10. Amber brings a bounty of experience in the area of activities. Her goal for our community is to “bring laughter, joy, and connectedness.” As she says, she is a “mother of 3 girls and a bonus mom to 3 more,” so she knows about coordinating group activities!
Haylee found her true love after arriving in Delta and married. She and Haylee Chamblin her husband Mikka have two children, a boy and a girl. If she looks familiar to you, you may have seen her at her mother in law’s boutique downtown: Creations on Main. Haylee says Crossroads is “the perfect fit” for her as someone who is enthusiastic about organization and scheduling. She hopes to bring a bit of cheer to our residents with a new smiling face on campus. We suggest you pick up the phone and call us at Delta for a tour. The first voice you should hear is Haylee’s. DINO DIG RESEARCH BUILDING On a ranch in eastern Wyoming lies a rich deposit of dinosaur bones in what is known as the Lance Formation. Students and archeologists come here every year to the Hanson Ranch Research Station. The students learn quarrying techniques and with the scientists, unearth upper Cretaceous dinosaur bones. More than 30,000 bones have been excavated so far. Often visitors stay at the site. Conditions are rustic—guests camp in tents, with only a few small outbuildings to provide support. The main building was destroyed in 2020 by a tornado.

Maranatha Volunteers International is constructing an 8,000-square foot facility to house showers, restrooms, a commercial kitchen, garage, offices, medical room, and a large gathering space for meals and classes. In August, 19 Maranatha volunteers framed the building. During October volunteers will install the roof, frame more walls, and get the building closed in before winter. More volunteer projects will come in the spring. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects at summer camps and retreat centers, schools, and churches. Work ranges from renovations of existing buildings to new construction and saves thousands of dollars in labor costs.
