GET PLENTY OF REST Not only can sleep reduce your stress level, but sleep is how your body repairs itself. For this reason, getting an adequate amount of sleep can result in a stronger immune system, making it easier for your body to fight off viruses.

Sleep is also important because it can improve memory and concentration. Aim for at least seven and a half to nine hours of sleep per night. Causes of insomnia can include inactivity during the day and too much caffeine. Or it can be a sign of a medical condition like sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome. If you have trouble sleeping, talk to your doctor to find the underlying cause.

Occasions Some Great April Fool’s Day Hoaxes
In 2005 “Ban dihydrogen monoxide,” was the cry. “This is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless substance which is contributing to global warming.” On closer inspection, dihydrogen monoxide is H20 (atomic chemistry) or plain water. Burger King once published a full-page advertisement in ‘Today’ announcing a new item to their menu: a ‘Left-Handed Whopper’ specially designed for the 33 million left-handed Americans. According to the text, the new burger had the same ingredients as the original Whopper (lettuce, tomato, hamburger patty, etc.), but all the condiments were rotated through 180 degrees for the benefit of their left-handed customers. The next day Burger King followed-up with an advert saying that although the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich. In addition, according to Burger King, other customers requested their own ‘right-handed Whopper burger.’ And an all-time favorite, back in 1957, no lesser source than the BBC, informed us that Spaghetti came from bushes. In true reverential, BBC documentary tone, Richard Dimbleby explained how Spaghetti was harvested from bushes, dried, and then processed into strands of spaghetti. The audience lapped up the hoax, phoning in to ask where they could buy a Spaghetti bush.

Volunteers coming from more than 15 states, in a group known as “Mission IS Possible,” recently traveled to a Maranatha project in Peru. The 34 volunteers raised the block walls of the Los Milagros Seventh-day Adventist Church, outside the capital city of Lima. For eight of them, it was their first Maranatha mission trip.

MISSION ISPOSSIBLE
Beyond construction, volunteers put on dental and vision clinics, seeing around 100 dental patients and handing out 120 pairs of eyeglasses. They led children’s programs in the community as well, with up to 30 kids attending each day. Since 2004 more than 3,000 Maranatha volunteers landed in Peru, constructing nearly 100 churches and schools. Maranatha’s projects are funded through local community and international donor support.
