Director’s Message Welcome to the seventh edition of ‘Circular’, CRJ Services’ quarterly newsletter, rounding up our latest news and developments. It has certainly been very busy since our last issue, as we continue to grow the business. It was really pleasing to announce earlier in the month that we have agreed to become an exclusive dealer for Pronar trommels in the UK. Pronar have been in the UK for a few years now but haven’t taken the market share that they should have done. We intend to reverse this, so watch this space! Pronar trommels have developed substantially over the past few years, becoming a very high-quality product with some unique features. The electric mobile version is certainly something that we will be brining to the market very soon. This becomes the fourth new and exclusive dealership we have added in the last three years, all of which are focused within our sector of recycling and forestry. We have seen a significant increase in demand for our HAAS Hybrid Shredder. We are continuing to develop this and are looking at how we can make this even more efficient so our customers can save more money, whilst reducing their carbon footprint. More on this in the next issue. We’ve been very busy recruiting additional colleagues to our team in the last quarter. We’ve added fourteen new people, right across the business. Three additions are in the sales team; Julian Cullis joins us to cover the Southwest of England and South Wales. Jules comes to us with a forestry background so he will help us develop our forestry business across the UK and the waste recycling business in his region. Adam Meeking has joined us to cover the Southeast of England. Adam comes from within the industry and has set off to a flying start, selling two shredders already. Mike Griffin has joined us as our Senior Key Accounts Manager and will head up the Key Accounts Team. Previously Mike was Head of Operations within Viridor and we are really excited to have Mike on board to grow this part of our business. Please look at our section later in “Circular” for a full run down on our new colleagues. We are very proud to be asked to be a content partner for the CIWM “Leading the Way to a World Beyond Waste,” a digital series that will be launched at RWM and Let’s Recycle Live in September. It was great to be a part of this initiative which is trying to shine a light on organisations that are contributing to protecting our environment and resources for future generations. Look out for the videos and articles on social media and website in the next few weeks. A huge thank you to our customers, suppliers and team members who continue to go the extra mile to ensure we reach our objective of being the “best provider of material processing and recycling equipment in the UK”.

What does your job entail?
Following my decision to depart from Viridor after 29yrs, I was fully intending to take some time off. Resulting from a couple of calls with Ben, Andrew & Rob I soon decided I wanted to join the CRJ team! From the get-go it was evident there was passion, enthusiasm & drive for the business to succeed.
My role within CRJ is “Key Account Manager” I am responsible for managing / working in partnership with the blue-chip companies. My aspiration is to nurture existing relations whilst building exciting opportunities for CRJ Services Ltd.
What is a fact about you that not many people would know? I’m a keen off-road trial rider, enjoying long distance trails on my KTM 250. Whilst being keen & relativity competitive I am reminded regularly that I am encroaching on the veteran class! My knees often sound like opening a bag of walkers crisps in the morning...
Julian Cullis Area Sales Manager Why did you want to join CRJ Services? After spending my entire working life working in various aspects of Agriculture and Forestry, the thought of a change in direction had been present for a year or so. When the opportunity to join CRJ Services arose, I was intrigued to see what was involved and which markets they served. After meeting with the team, I was sold!
What does your job entail? I’m currently working on expanding the reach of CRJ Services throughout South Wales, Central Southern England and the West Country. I’m introducing us to new potential customers in the waste management and forestry sectors, building personal relationships and supporting them with any issues they may face.
What is a fact about you that not many people would know? Despite appearances, I’m very outdoorsy! I completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in 23 hours, held (briefly) a national ranking in discus, and I am an avid sea angler.

An Insight into Pronar Founded in Poland during the difficult economy of the late 1980s, Pronar is now a leading manufacturer in recycling, agricultural and municipal machinery. As a mass scale global supplier of disc wheels, pneumatics and hydraulics, and numerous other components needed in machinery production, Pronar is a company which has grown with unmatched pace and consistency over the last three decades. Mobile trommel screens In response to the global waste issue, the company has developed a whole range of recycling equipment, including the renowned Pronar MPB range of Trommel Screens.

Pronar was established in 1988
focused north-eastern part of the country. The company quickly evolved from trading with agricultural products to supplying farmers with tractors and other agricultural machines. Production rapidly expanded in the 1990’s and continued to grow for the next decade. The development went so well that soon Pronar started to manufacture a massive 4

Pronar today consists of over 3,000 employees based in 8 factories. It is the biggest employer in north-east Poland. It is among the top selling brands in Poland with over 50% of the market share and hugely popular in Germany, Sweden, Norway and many other countries in Europe. It is the 2nd biggest manufacturer of disc wheels in the world.
The Pronar mobile trommel screens range consists of eight models, with four available drums sizes varying from 4.4m length and 1.4m diameter, up to 7.2m length and 2.0m diameter. The numbers which feature in each model name indicate the drum dimensions: for example the MPB 20.55 has a drum diameter of 2.0m and a length of 5.5m. MPB 14.44, MPB 18.47, MPB 20.55 and MPB 20.72 come with a wheeled chassis as standard. This provides easy machine transport for multi-site companies or hire fleets, especially on short or medium distances. The three largest models can be upgraded to a tracked version which provides a greater stability and make these suitable to work on difficult terrain. Tracked machines are marked as MPB 18.47g, MPB 20.55gh and MPB 20.72g.

2023 saw the introduction of the ‘e’ series, a fully electrically driven trommel with a 55kW motor replacing the conventional diesel engine. The most advanced trommel model from Pronar is the MPB 20.55gh which is fitted on a special frame lifted by four hydraulic cylinders. The machine can be positioned at different angles against the ground level which allows it to work on an uneven surface if needed. All Pronar mobile trommels are equipped with a Danfoss hydraulic system, central greasing system and robot made original Pronar drums tailored to the customer’s needs.
Pronar trommels can be equipped with a wide range of optional equipment such as: magnetic rollers, air separators, stone grid protection over the loading hopper, (Cleanfix) reversible fans for cleaning engine and hydraulic oil radiators. Working lights, air compressors, sets of additional
safety covers, various belt types on conveyors and many more extras are also available. With 7 state of the art, fully equipped factories located throughout Poland in Narew, Narewka (3), Siemiatycze, Wyszki and Hajnowka, Pronar are well equipped to meet the ever changing demands of the screening markets worldwide.

Phil Lambert Tree Services are a well-established forestry and clearance services company based in the Northwest. The family-run business already has a good relationship with CRJ, having hired several machines over the last 10 years. The challenge Looking for greater capacity and better chip quality, the team needed to build on their capability while keeping within the size limitation imposed by their tractors.
How CRJ approached/ met the challenge At the 2022 APF exhibition, CRJ met up with the team from Phil Lambert who showed interest in the JENZ HEM542Z PTO Chipper which CRJ had on display. CRJ facilitated the sale and also helped by part-exchanging their existing chipper. 6

HAAS TYRON 2000 XL 2.0
HAAS tackles RDF East Coast Waste are a Norfolk based waste management company. Founded in 1979, its service focuses on Great Yarmouth and the surrounding areas. Building on 40 years of experience they handle waste in the most effective and environmentally friendly way. The challenge With the current export prices on baled and wrapped RDF, it was economically viable to purchase a HAAS Tyron 2000 to feed their baling and wrapping line. The baling line requires a consistent tonnage, and material size, in order to improve efficiency, bale weight, and throughput.
How CRJ approached/ met the challenge CRJ recommended the HAAS Tyron 2000, highlighting the superior productivity, fuel economy and wear to be expected from the machine. ECW asked for proof and CRJ obliged, arranging an onsite demonstration. CRJ benefits from

having its own transport, while our drivers are also skilled operators. Jake from CRJ, transported the HAAS to ECW’s site for the demonstration. The HAAS successfully proved that ECW could increase capacity into their baler and wrapping line therefore increasing tonnage per hour. The HAAS met (if not exceeded) all expectations, ticking the boxes for throughput, fuel economy and wear.

How is CRJ contributing to this campaign?

he industry is driving change through innovation, collaboration, policy, and new technologies; working with producers and manufacturers to design out waste and nurture green material chains; and inspiring behavioural change required in the journey to a “world beyond waste”.
How have we connected with Content With Purpose? CRJ are supporting this campaign by providing useful content about our company and how our services provide a pivotal role in waste and 8

resources management. We have a 3-minute video, filmed at our head office in Knutsford and also at two of our customer sites, which concentrates on how CRJ tries to work with our customers to solve their issues. Rob Symons explains in the video how we take our customer problems (which may be driven by legal and regulatory change) very seriously and work with the customer to find a solution. The second video is a thought leadership interview with our Director, Andrew Clarkson. He explained how CRJ are driving

Being able to work with our suppliers to help change and ensure the machinery we sell supports a variety of customer needs is vital, this ends up leading to greater recycling of material and therefore a better impact on the environment.

at Keenan Recycling Ltd The challenge
Established in 2001, Keenan Recycling has grown from a garden waste composting business based near Aberdeen to become the UK’s largest organic waste management company. Its sustainable food waste management service includes an integrated approach to collecting food waste and turning it into green energy through its innovative processing facility in Scotland.
E
ach year, the company recycles around 100,000 tonnes of garden and food waste which is then transformed into compost that is used by farmers to improve their soil. Additionally, food waste is used to create valuable biofuels which are turned into green electricity, in a successful example of a truly circular economy approach. Keenan Recycling first hired a trommel from CRJ Services back in 2006. Since then, they have hired various machines, including Slow Speed Shredders, Picking Stations and Deck Screeners. CRJ has also cross-hired machines off Keenan
over the past 15 years, developing a strong working relationship between the two companies. Keenan Recycling purchased their first JENZ high-speed shredder back in 2008, A BA725, and since then have taken delivery of a new one approximately every three years, showing ongoing trust in the JENZ products.
To meet the necessity for increased production year on year, Grant Keenan, Managing Director of Keenan Recycling contacted CRJ in December 2022 about the possibility of a new shredder.
How CRJ approached/ met the challenge Keenan took delivery of their new BA926 JENZ High-Speed Shredder in April 2023. The machine is fully equipped with innovative JENZ options, including: • an impact Protection System to detect tramp material in the feed • a Wagner Neodymium Over-band Magnet to remove all ferrous material from the product belt. • a powerful 530HP MTU engine to allow for increased productivity. • and JENZ’s patented Easy2 Control System to allow for offsite machine diagnostic and machine management functions.
