“e act of eating in community is one of the foundations of the cultural identity and continuity of the communities of the Mediterranean basin. It is a moment of social exchange and communication and also of affirmation and renewal of the ties that make up the identity of the family, the group or the community. ”- UNESCO on the Mediterranean diet. e project proposes the rehabilitation of the Castillo de San Julían (Cartagena, Murcia) as an Interpretation Center of the Mediterranean Diet. To accommodate the entire program, since what is already built is not enough, the exhibition areas and workshops will be placed below the ground level, also serving as a connection with the Aljibe. ese underground spaces will be connected to the patio, which will be themost important part of the project and around which the uses are articulated. e Center will contain an interactive museum where techniques used to obtain and preserve food can be learned in a practical way and that the patio serves as a restaurant and a place of social exchange (in accordance with the practice and tradition of the Mediterranean Diet) being the workshops themselves, the volumes that con gure and de ne the patio geometry. 7

From the hill where it is located, you can contemplate the other forti cations as well as the city.

e project is located in San Rafael de Escazú, west of the city of San José, Costa Rica. At present, the square belongs to the Colegio Yanuario Quesada. e task assigned was to give a new use to this lot. I proposed to create a multipurpose square, in which there will be “buildings / devices” that will be integrated into the topography of the square itself. Being habitable both inside and outside, from which you will have a privileged view of the Cerros de Escazú. Regarding the sustainability criteria, the existence of prevailing winds from the Northeast has been taken into account. is would bring noise from the main street (North of the plaza) to the square. For this reason, a “retaining wall” with the slopes and vegetation has been created there. In terms of sunlight, the buildings are oriented with the main facade to the West-East and have an eaves that prevents direct radiation from entering the facade. e others will be made of wooden slats that will act as a lter allowing natural light to pass through.

Aer an analysis of the place it is observed that there are two clear physical limits: on the one hand, the natural limit of the mountains and on the other hand, the arti cial limit of the greenhouses. at is why the project proposes to create a new limit. atwill be located on he track, limiting it and creating an oasis inside it. A limit that opens onto the track but closes off to the rest of the desert landscape. At one ponit will be located Testing Center, while the houses for the researchers will be located at the opposite side.

El Silo 40º 22’ N // 3º 36’ O Malagón, Ciudad Real, España Actualidad ETSAM
e project is a typological correction of the Silo, adapting it to new uses. e silo is a dead building but inherent to the character of the towns and the Spanish rural landscape. is building recalls the territory of La Mancha, its agrarian condition and is of a scale that allows the reorganization of the city center, due to its landmark character. Of all the Silos, Malagón´s Silo is chosen because aer the historical and sociodemographic analysis of the area it is observed that since its foundation as a strategic area on the silver road, it has suffered a loss of heritage / identity that has caused degradation of the public space. To maintain the belonging of this object to society, the recovery of the public space of the town of Malagón is proposed with the Silo as a con guring and structuring element. Creating in the silo a space where farmers from the districts of Malagón can sell their products and is at the same time a meeting place with hybrid equipment; advocating an economy of proximity, the collective use of goods, and social interaction.
