NAACP hosts forum for Jackson City Council candidates
By Downtown Ricky Brown Sun, Apr 9, 2023 - CrimeSEEN While the participation was disappointing, the forum for Jackson City Council candidates was lively, informative and welcoming. The Jackson-Madison County NAACP branch held its second round if candidate forums at the local office Thursday evening. Moderator Mr. Harrell Carter welcomed the participants as Pastor and district one candidate J P Stovall opened with a prayer. Only 5 candidates showed up for the forum which was talked about during the debate. Several citizens in attendance asked key questions and namely the continued neglect of the citizens and services in East Jackson.
