Dear Physician Partners,
This year marks a significant milestone for Crestwood Medical Center: 60 years of caring for the community! It’s a moment to reflect on our proud history, celebrate the many successes achieved by our talented teams, and look ahead with enthusiasm to the possibilities that this next chapter holds
Since Crestwood opened its doors in 1965, our footprint has grown, our services have expanded, and our commitment to help people get well and live healthier has remained steadfast. Our hospital today is a 180-bed, full-service acute care facility, Through the years, we have helped recruit key physicians across our community and expanded access to care across both primary and specialty services We have also grown our facility and infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of our patients, including expansion of our procedural areas, emergency department and outpatient access points across North Alabama Each decade has brought new challenges and opportunities and our teams have risen to meet them with dedication and professionalism
The future is bright for Crestwood Medical Center as we continue to improve the breadth, depth and quality of services we offer with physician engagement at the core of everything we do

Dr. Warren Strickland, an independent member of Crestwood’s Medical Staff, recently completed the first carotid stent procedure at Crestwood, marking an important milestone for our cardiovascular program.
This minimally invasive intervention offers an alternative to traditional surgery and supports improved outcomes for patients at risk of stroke.
Urologists are performing Mini Perc Nephrolithotomy to treat kidney stones. Aquablation technology will also be available in the near future as a minimally invasive surgical treatment for BPH.
As of December 1, 2025, Labcorp is providing outpatient laboratory services for non-hospital based patients within the Crestwood network. Crestwood Medical Center will no longer provide outreach or lab-only outpatient services. We will continue to support lab operations for operate inpatients, emergency department patients and patients needing labs as part of pre-admission testing (PAT).
The first cochlear implant procedure in North Alabama was recently completed at Crestwood Medical Center by Dr. Sabina Dang, an ENT specialist and independent member of Crestwood’s medical staff. Historically, patients would have to travel out of the area for this procedure. A cochlear implant helps patients with severe hearing loss by directly stimulating the nerve of hearing.
Crestwood Medical Center was recently recognized by Community Health Systems (CHS) with a quality award for outstanding performance in patient care and safety. This award highlights the hospital’s ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, continuous improvement and delivering high-quality care to every patient. Congratulations to our physicians, nurses, and staff whose dedication and teamwork made this achievement possible.
Crestwood will transition to Oracle Health (Cerner) for our clinical and revenue cycle systems. The system is designed to provide a seamless workflow and create a coordinated experience between departments and providers.
What do you need to know now?
The CHS Deployment Services team, in collaboration with the CHS Project Management Organization (PMO), have already initiated the pre-implementation phase of our Electronic Health Record (EHR)system conversion. Oracle Health’s comprehensive EHR will replace MEDHOST/EDIS clinical and financial systems.
What can you expect next?

“I was very impressed with Crestwood, from the registration staff to the friendly and sharp pre-op nurse and my professional and kind operating staff. I knew I was in great hands the whole way. Dr. Boyett is second to none with his bedside manner and skills as a surgeon. Thanks for the great care.”
