Bastogne School Age Center And the Manadoob Club by Ramon Slater The Manadoob Program for Self Esteem, teaches children self-esteem while enhancing their reading and writing skills through the use of story telling, crafts and individual interpretation. The Manadoob novel and Moobia Stones offer children the gift of entertainment and self- awareness. The characters from the book, both human and animal, celebrate diversity and inclusion, which is a perfect program for our Fort Campbell community. As an Army program School Age Services lines up with the Army’s mission to be a model of diversity by providing a culture that values diversity and inclusion. We made the program into a club, and the Manadoob Club has been very interesting and effective since we started. The Manadoob Club allows SAC staff members, Diamond Sprewer and Amber Deal to address issues like self-empowerment, coping skills, social awareness, positive behavior and positive thinking. Every Tuesday 15 to 20 children meet to read “Manadoob Mystery of the Moobia Stones�. The characters in the story face challenges, and the children help the characters deal with them, which aids them in believing in themselves. Some of the challenges the Manadoob characters deal with help the children develop the ability to talk freely about grief, and express themselves in a positive manner. The children that participate in the Manadoob Program have developed a strong bond. They hold each other accountable to display positive behavior, and they are becoming more comfortable sharing their feelings on various topics. They have a lot of open ended discussions and they are eager to answer questions for each other. The children have expressed a desire to make stones, jewelry, and stress ball that resemble the real Moobia Stones. They have also made a special request to go to the zoo, because the book taught them that a human-animal bond can live forever. Diamond, Amber, and Fort Campbell children love the Manadoob Program, and are excited about its future at Bastogne SAC. It is a pleasure to Participate in the Manadoob Program because the expression on their faces, their laughter, and the wonderful conversations each week are priceless.

You might have heard of the MWR’s Abandoned Vehicle and Equipment Auctions but maybe you don’t know exactly what that entails. With the first auction of the year coming up on Saturday, April 15 and April 29, now is the time to learn. A question and answer session with Roger Edwards from Air Assault Auto should help to clear a few things up.

What does Abandoned Vehicle mean? Abandoned means the previous owner has given up all rights to the vehicle. It also means that the vehicle is not considered to be road worthy. The vehicle is in disrepair and will most likely need to be towed out of the auction lot.

What sort of equipment is auctioned?
The equipment ranges from furniture, televisions, gym equipment, lawn equipment to excess computers.
Where can someone see a list of what is being auctioned prior to attending? A condensed list of equipment and vehicles for auction should be ready and posted on Campbell.armymwr.com and our Fort Campbell MWR Facebook page. Early viewing for vehicles will be Tuesday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 27 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
What are some basic rules you want people to know before going to the auction? Cars and Equipment may not be in the greatest of shape. You must be ages 12 and up to attend and this includes no strollers and no pets. We accept cash, check or Visa. Vehicles and equipment are sold "as is" with no warranty. Vehicles may or may not have keys or batteries. Participants must be 18 years old to bid and winning bid is legally binding.
What is the coolest car or piece of equipment that you have seen being auctioned? The coolest piece I have seen auction equipment wise would be the neon pool table and the coolest car I have seen was a 70’s model Camaro but my boss is partial to the Rambler which should be available in the April 29 auction.

Retired Fort Campbell Soldier Remodels EZ Kleen Car Wash “I retired from the U.S. Army on April 30, 2014 after serving just over 21 years. I was assigned to 5th Special Forces Group in January 2001. After more than a dozen years in 5th SFG, as an SF Medic and then a SF Operations Sergeant, my Family and I have come to think of Fort Campbell as our home. I spent a total of four years in Germany, two years in Colorado, and a couple of years in North Carolina, but Clarksville just feels right for our Family. During my time at Fort Campbell, I’ve had multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as numerous trips to other Middle Eastern countries. After retiring, I opened by EZ Kleen Car Wash which I operate with my wife and children. We have operated this car wash since 2006, but completely rebuilt the car wash from the ground up. We demolished the old car wash in June of 2014, right after I retired, and construction was completed in January of 2015. We built EZ Clean to provide a valuable service to the Oak Grove and Clarksville community, as well as the troops on Fort Campbell.”

THE TEAM DEVELOPMENT COURSE Consists of many unique challenges, a group of people work as a team to solve problems and move across the course together.

THE ODESSY The largest structure, 50 feet high and 360 feet long. With cargo nets, zip lines, sliding platforms, and cables suspended in mid-air, individuals have the opportunity to work in teams to traverse from one side to the other. Each level has four different challenges, we have two leaves for a total of eight different challenges. The participants will only be able to complete one level in the rotation. The max number on each level is 12 participants. They will work together in a team to overcome the obstacle in front of them. The odyssey structure helps people to become a team, and overcome fears.
ALPINE TOWER Shaped like an hour glass, is a vertical 50 foot tall obstacle course. Participants will work in teams or by themselves to ascend the many cargo nets, ropes, poles and hanging ladders. It is the ideal jungle gym. The alpine tower is great for all ages and skill level. It is a challenge by choice obstacle, meaning that the participant can choose what they want to do and how far they want to go. One side has a ladder that will take you to the first platform, it’s a great challenge for our younger participants or for someone weary of heights.
THE CAROLINA T-WALL Just shy of 50 feet and has eight different faces simulating a realistic style of rock climbing. someone weary of heights.

INDOOR CLIMBING WALL Located just outside Gate 10, the Indoor Climbing Wall is perfect for those learning how to rock climb or those who are looking to improve their skill and with programs available for beginner to advanced climbers, the Indoor Climbing Wall is perfect for the whole Family. PT CLIMB A great alternative to your normal PT, your unit can reserve one of our climbing walls. This is a great physical and mental challenge for your group with only a $5 fee per person.

Adventure Programs also offers Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) to Active Duty units. Priority is given to platoons that have redeployed within the last 180 days. Warrior Adventure Quest is designed to build teamwork and instill unit cohesion by participating in outdoor adventures at no cost to the unit.
