This month, we shine a light on The Engine Shed Wetherby who are hosting comedy and 80s-themed nights this summer.
We also promote Bramham Gala 2026 brought to you by Bramham Community Action Group, as well as Tadcaster
Community Choir who are holding their annual Summer Concert at the Riley Smith Hall at 2.30pm on Sunday 19th July.

The Engine Shed Wetherby hosts comedy
and 80s-themed nights
The Engine Shed Wetherby began its life in 1847 as a goods shed on the Harrogate to Church Fenton railway line in the heart of the picturesque town. It reopened in August 2012 by the present owners Kay and Alex Hogg.
Their main focus was increasing the number of weddings, which has gone from strength to strength over the years, but is also available to the local community for a wide variety of events.
A Grade II-listed building, The Engine Shed Wetherby is a multi-award winning family-run business and renowned for its friendly customer service. It has been superbly renovated to create a truly unique venue.
Moor Laugh Comedy Night
Friday 3rd July
Headliner is the amazing and hilarious Rob Rouse. He is well known from BBC’s Upstart Crow and Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats. He will be supported by two other great comedians. Tickets are £22.
Back to the 80’s
Saturday 18th July
The venue’s popular 80s night returns with a DJ playing all the classic 80s hits. A super event for a work social, friends’ night out or end-of-term parents’ party. Fancy dress is not obligatory. Tickets are £7 online or on the door.

Bramham Gala 2026
Save the date: the gala takes place on Saturday 4th July from 12-4pm, brought to you by Bramham Community Action Group
The gala will have displays from local dance groups, line dancing and a choir from St Gemma’s Hospice. There will be a bar which will also have live music from local band Born Brave and numerous craft and food stalls, tea, coffee and cake from local churches and food outlets such as pizza and a hog roast.
There will be bouncy castles and lots of childrens activities. The gala is free entry with plenty of parking at £1 per car.
This year’s main attraction is a visit by Faye O’Hara who, when she was a horse-mad teenager, had a tragic accident aged 15 which left her disabled.
She lost the use of both legs and one arm but has since overcome this as well as she can. She now competes in carriage driving and is part of Team GB’s Para Driving Squad.
She is inspirational and a fantastic person showing what you can achieve.
As a group they organise the Christmas tree and lights in Bramham with an official switchon at the end of November.
Over the years they have raised funds to install more lights
making the village shine with more festive cheer.

New building and expansion coming in August 2026
We are delighted to announce that our brand-new building is scheduled to arrive in August 2026.
This expansion marks a significant milestone for Jigsaws, enabling us to increase our capacity and better serve our community. With the new facilities, we will be able to offer more funded sessions across our four age-specific rooms, ensuring that each child receives care and education tailored to their developmental stage. In addition, we will expand both before and after school care, providing greater flexibility and support for families.
