In the modern world it is rather too easy to run a boarding house from a computer so I make a point of one or two duty nights a week spending time going from room to room and just chatting to the boys about what is going on in their lives. It always cheers me up.

With Joss Pinnington and Harry Moore as comperes and Mr Verdon as the quizmaster, the evening ran smoothly. In the end ‘Cheesed Off’ emerged as convincing winners of the quiz. The entertainment continued well into the night with a raffle and numerous musical performances from among others Charlie Forrest and Reuben Gray whose solo's were excellent. Many thanks goes to all the people involved: to Mr Logan and Mr Welch for putting the whole event together, to the catering staff for serving up a delicious meal, to the many members of the sixth form for waiting the tables, and to the teachers and parents that took part in making the evening so special. However, most importantly thank you to all those who donated to the two charities:

To finish it off, I took the ball from a short corner and flicked it low for Cooper to deflect into the back of the net. In our final game against North, we needed the win to give us the overall 1st position. We started strong with neither side getting that many shots off. Some dirty tackles by North got us heated up and we fought back with some near misses in the second half. We began to lose our energy by the end of the

A wonderful save by Christian Russell kept us into sudden death and a clean Joss Pinnington penalty meant that we would move on to the 7th respective penalties. Stonesett Report Stoneset is hockey for the non-hockey players, a day when you are not selected for your talent but your desire to win. Loveday have an abundance of players who were never disheartened by the challenge they faced. Pinner’s Winners and Camo’s Crew pulled off a three win sweep, with Harry Moore finishing brilliantly for Pinner’s Winners, and only 3 matches were lost altogether. Rust was solid
