PARTNERING WITH MEN TO COMBAT GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
This pilot project is made possible by the generous support of Inclusivity & Social Change in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor recognized the need for ambassadors who will be directly involved in GBV campaigns and interventions across all CPUT campuses in the quest to eradicate GBV and begin the conversations in educating CPUT men to be able to have a gender-equal campus free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. This comes after the inauguration of the VC’s Think Tank for Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment (GEWE) Task Team in March 2022.
PROJECT INFORMATION: Title of the project: VC’s HeForShe Ambassadors Programme 2022 Focus: Training workshop on communication for advocacy strategic to eradicate gender-based violence. BACKGROUND: HeForShe is an appeal to men and individuals of all genders to join in solidarity with women in order to form a bold, visible, and united force for gender equality. The men of HeForShe aren't sitting on the sidelines. They are collaborating with women and with one another to develop businesses, raise families, and give back to their communities.
