Bulls From the Heart Our family is very excited to once again bring our annual bull sale back to a live event; direct from Clinton, in the heart of BC cattle country. As the cattle business is ever evolving, we move with it and therefore want to give a massive welcome to our friends the Allison’s & their wonderful family purebred outfit, Limestone Charolais, as we partner up on a sincerely “good ‘n honest set of bulls”! The white bulls this year are from the very dams that they purchased in Springside’s epic fall dispersal. Together we are embarking on a sale that will offer, what we each feel, is an excellent opportunity for bull buyers to invest in the outstanding genetics gathered together in our herds. . It was a tough year in many regions for many different reasons, we know that having strong genetics in a cow herd is one of the very few things that will maintain forward progress. We feel; that despite the fires, floods & centurial heat, the renewing growth of the cow herd in Western Canada presents the chance for people who raise cattle to come together in a renewed & completely independent sale. Here at Heart of the Valley, our bedrock philosophy of working in the interests of the cow/calf producer to continuously improve their herd value & profitability stays the same. Continuing our drive to produce muscular, easy fleshing cattle, bearing solid maternal traits all on great feet. We feel those attributes lend to creating the hefty performance & practicality that our past customers have come to expect. Vigour is the #1 measuring stick we use for our 1st cut on bull calves, when they have that get up and go, they pass that along in their offspring. We constantly invest in walking Sires, only using AI on previously proven bulls. This insures we are A. offering bulls that are dependable with ‘real world’ functionality & B. we can back up both the fertility & genetic attributes.

BULLS FROM CALVING EASE GUIDE Calving Ease is often related to the birth weight of a bull, and while this is partly true, there are other factors that influence CE. The dam and her management are at least 50% to 60% of the CE. The consistency & consideration of the following will also influence birth weight. * BW’s of the sire and dam * BW epd * CE & Maternal CE epd * Sires calving inclinations * Sires physical confirmation * Nutrition, gestation, environment & latitude * Breed composition * Hybrid vigour We rate each bull in the sale based on our recorded

information & personal knowledge of our herd . Each year, one of the more frequent questions is which of bulls will work best on their heifers? Of course, only that person

The Angus bulls will be available for viewing at U2 Ranch in Coaldale, Alberta until the 12th of March. Both the Angus & the Charolais will then be available for viewing at the Clinton Rodeo Grounds, Clinton, British Columbia from the 15th of March until the sale.

Bidding: Each bull will be sold to the highest

bidder. Bidding disputes: The Auctioneer will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on those matters will be final.

Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque and the

right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements will be made with Heart of the Valley Farms/ Limestone Charolais immediately following the conclusion of the sale and before any cattle will be released from the sale facility. Each bull becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as the hammer drops.

Guarantee: We guarantee to sell you a bull that is structurally sound for breeding, and has passed a semen test done by a licensed veterinarian…for further details see our Breeders Guarantee.

Insurance: Any bull that is not taken on sale day, must be insured by the purchaser. We highly recommend insuring any purchased bull regardless.

Liability: All persons attending the sale, do so at their own risk. Neither the owners, clerks, facility owners or anyone connected with the sale assumes any responsibility, legal or otherwise for damage, injury or loss of any kind.

Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais guarantees to sell you a bull that is structurally sound, and has passed a semen test done by a licensed veterinarian. Should any Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais bull fail to be a satisfactory breeder and unable to physically service a female, an adjustment will be made to reflect the value of the bull in question – or a credit will be given towards the purchase of another bull from Heart of the Valley or Limestone Charolais at our discretion. Things do go wrong sometimes and we will be there to back up our sale guaranteed. So you can be rest assured that we will provide you with a sound breeding bull, and we will be there to assist you should a problem arise.

If the bull dies, a post mortem report will be required, with photo and tattoo identification of the bull. Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais retains the right to request another veterinarian complete a 2nd report at their discretion and cost.
