A Letter from the General Manager 20 26

Dear Members, Happy New Year from all of us at Crow Valley Golf Club! We had a great year to look back on for good memories, but our team is excited to kick off 2026. We have a big year ahead of us with some of these changes highlighted throughout this newsletter. We have also used this Newsletter to highlight a few key moments from this past year.

Zach Tyson

Zach Tyson First, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of our new Head Golf Professional. Zach McArthur is excited to add his expertise and passion to our already strong team. We share in the expectation to elevate your golfing experience and bring fresh energy to our programs and events. Stay tuned for opportunities to meet and welcome the new Zach in the coming weeks. In another staffing announcement, Michael Cook will conclude his time at Crow Valley on January 15 as he accepts a new opportunity. We thank Michael for his contributions and wish him well. With the Club closed for the season and construction underway, this transition will not impact service. We are moving forward with hiring a Restaurant Manager to support Food and Beverage operations. I would also like to take this opportunity to share that Caleb DeVries has also accepted a position in Sports Marketing in Dallas, Texas. Caleb has been a standout character and strong support of our team for the past few years, and we should all be excited for his bright future. The Clubhouse Refresh project is under way and while it is too soon for me to announce the opening date, I feel strongly that I can assure you that we are in good hands with Estes. Their crew has been hard at work and has been diligent in their planning to ensure we keep to our tight timeline. This is also why I want to remind members that our team will be sharing information through Email and Social Media to keep everyone updated on our progress. DO NOT ENTER ANY CONSTRUCTION AREAS DURING THE PROJECT. Thank you for being part of our vibrant community. Here’s to a year filled with great golf, memorable moments, and exciting improvements at Crow Valley!

A Year of Memories

January 2026

Dear Members,

Food and Beverage

As we are entering an exciting new chapter at the club with the remodel, I have the utmost excitement for a refreshing and renewed energy, one that will honor our traditions, while creating new and inviting spaces for families, friends, and members of all ages. Along with these improvements, comes a calendar full of fun, social, and family focused events that I am truly excited to create and be a part of. From lively golf events, casual social nights, family gatherings, and special themed experiences, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. This new beginning brings wonderful opportunities to connect, laugh, and make lasting memories.

Bri Wehrle Zach Tyson

A Year of Memories

January 2026

Grounds and Greens

Dear Members, As winter settles in and the golf course enters its offseason, we wanted to share an update on what our maintenance team is working on during the colder months. While the course may be quiet, this is actually one of the most important times of year for protecting your investment and preparing for the season ahead.

Tim Gravert

Throughout the winter, our primary focus is protecting the turf. Greens,Zach tees,Tyson and fairways are carefully winterized to help them withstand freezing temperatures, ice, and snow. We apply preventative treatments to reduce the risk of snow mold and regularly monitor conditions to minimize winter damage. The off-season also allows us to dedicate significant time to equipment maintenance. All mowers and machinery are fully serviced, sharpened, and repaired so they are ready to perform at the highest level come spring. This proactive approach reduces downtime during the playing season and improves overall course conditions. Weather permitting, winter is also an ideal time for tree work and course improvements. Selective pruning and tree removal improve sunlight, airflow, and turf health. As stated in previous communications, most of the tree work done this winter is in conjunction with our upcoming renovation plans. By doing this work inhouse now, we save the club significant amounts of money by not hiring a tree contractor and also giving ourselves more time to focus on the project and course next fall. In addition to those things, I have been spending a lot of time with our vendors, contractors and architect to make sure our project goes off as smoothly as possible. Behind the scenes, our team is busy with planning and preparation. This includes budgeting, ordering supplies, reviewing soil tests, scheduling maintenance programs, and completing staff training and certifications to ensure safe and efficient operations. All of this work is done with one goal in mind: to deliver the best possible playing conditions when the course reopens. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back to a healthy, well-prepared golf course in the spring. Our team hopes you had a Happy Holidays,

Note from Shawna

Why Movement Matters: A Recap of the DNS Golf Seminar Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization) Golf Seminar, an experience that reinforced something I see every day in lessons and training sessions: how you move matters just as much as how you swing. DNS is a movement and rehabilitation approach developed by the Prague School of Rehabilitation. Rather than focusing only on muscles or flexibility, DNS looks at how the brain and body coordinate movement from the ground up. It emphasizes proper breathing, posture, joint positioning, and stability, all of which are essential for golfers of every age and ability. The Instructors connected the dots between movement quality and swing efficiency, showing how limitations in stability, breathing, or joint control often show up as swing faults, loss of speed, or recurring injuries.

Why Movement Is Powerful for Golfers One of the biggest takeaways from the seminar is that many swing issues aren’t swing problems at all. They often are the result of compensation patterns from limited ranges of motion or motor control. Benefits to improving movement quality includes: Improve balance and posture throughout the swing Create better stability through the core without tension Move more efficiently, leading to increased speed and consistency Reduce stress on the back, hips, shoulders, and neck Build a body that supports longevity in the game This approach is especially beneficial for junior golfers who are still developing, adult players looking to gain speed safely, and golfers who feel “stuck” despite taking lessons. Swinging into 2026 Moving ahead, our programs will be built around a long-term development model that supports each player’s growth over time rather than quick fixes. Juniors will focus on building strong movement foundations, coordination, and healthy habits that support skill development as they grow, while adult golfers will benefit from individualized programs designed to improve mobility, efficiency, consistency, and longevity in the game.
