of simplicity, authenticity and flavour underpins every dish — from special breakfasts for overnight guests to the two-course menu featured in the Good Food Guide, as well as the main lunch and dinner offerings

These words only provide clues to the fabulous qualities of our Top Five. To really understand, you’ll have to go eat!

Exciting and innovative cooking at Worcestershire’s award-winning Spice Fusion restaurant has elevated the traditional Asian eating experience way beyond most people expect from an Indian restaurant. Blending the best of influences Indian and Bangladeshi culinary culture, it has created a deliciously refined and redefined cuisine, teaming Asia’s amazing tastes and textures with precision presentation to create a fine dining experience like no other.
Diners at Spice Fusion feast on dishes created by a passionate, professional and innovative team with celebrity chef Sudha Saha as consultant, armed with deep experience of India’s diverse cookery regions, armfuls of awards and numerous TV guest spots and success in high profile competitive cookery, winning the Midlands regional prize on the popular ITV1 show Britain’s Best Dish and Dish of the Day on Channel 4’s Iron Chef.
Spice Fusion has been a treasured part of the Worcestershire restaurant scene since it opened in 2007, and has since gained awards for excellence. Dishes are prepared from the finest and freshest ingredients and presented with elegance, style and flair as edible works of art, pleasing as much to the eye as to the palate.

Guests take joy in the subtle balance of flavours, seasonal ingredients and innovative twists that the chefs bring to their table, either in the freshly made-over contemporary dining room or in a beautiful outdoor eating area.
For a truly gourmet treat, they can experience the recently launched Chef’s Table, a hugely popular monthly innovation in which a tasting menu of five exquisite dishes is served to a maximum of 10 guests at a time in a small, private dining area. These meals are truly memorable and each course is matched with an exceptional wine. Frequently booked by people celebrating milestone birthdays, key anniversaries or other extra-special events, the menu comprises:
• Panko crumbed spiced Cromer crab cake, avocado purée, chilli mayo.
• Tandoor cooked spiced French trimmed Welsh lamb cutlet, Asian slaw, wasabi yoghurt dip.
• Pan fried, line-caught sea bass with an assortment of spiced baby carrots, purple stem broccoli and baby courgette, lime achar and moilee jus.
• Tandoor cooked corn-fed chicken breast, wild mushrooms and truffle oil-infused kedgeree with makhani jus.
• Chai brûlée and cardamom shortbread.
Spice Fusion, A449 Ombersley Road, Dunhampton, Stourport on Severn, DY13
In another recent innovation at Spice Fusion, food enthusiasts can now sign up for cookery masterclasses with Chef Sudha, in which he demonstrates the perfect delivery of two amazing dishes before guiding the participants into creating their own versions.
Sudha was tasked with leading the way to reinvent, reimagine and redefine Asian cuisine to enhance the restaurant’s offer, and did that by exceeding expectations and applying considerable contemporary flair. Recommended in MICHELIN ‘s & GOOD FOOD GUIDE, Harden’s guide to great British restaurants and the AA Rosette restaurant guide, this culinary creative devised a new menu in three parts, featuring traditional dishes from the Indian sub-continent, elevated curry house classics and signature dishes with a history and intriguing story behind them.
Says restaurant spokesman Muhid: “We had a big revamp towards the end of last year and, with Chef Sudha’s input, it has been a great success in encouraging people to try something more adventurous and exciting, outside of their previous experience. The Chef’s Table and Cookery Masterclasses are part of that.”

In a world that rarely slows down, wellness is increasingly about finding simple, restorative rituals that nourish both body and mind. From the invigorating effects of cold water swimming to confidence-boosting beauty and self-care treatments, small lifestyle choices can have a powerful impact on how we feel every day.
Cold water swimming, particularly in naturally buoyant saltwater, is celebrated for its ability to improve circulation, reduce inflammation and lift mood, leaving swimmers feeling calmer, clearer and re-energised. Beyond physical benefits, it offers a mindful pause — a moment of reset that reconnects us with ourselves.
Equally important is feeling confident in our own skin. Advanced skincare, aesthetic treatments and discreet hair solutions are helping people look refreshed, feel empowered and embrace everyday life with renewed assurance. Whether through movement, relaxation or self-investment, prioritising wellness isn’t about indulgence — it’s about balance, confidence and longterm health.

There’s something special about starting your day at Droitwich Spa Lido, one of the UK’s last open-air saltwater pools. Nearly a century old, its naturally buoyant brine makes swimming here unique.
Cold water swimming continues to grow in popularity, with benefits linked to improved circulation, reduced inflammation, boosted immunity and a natural lift in mood. Many swimmers feel calmer, clearer and more energised—a gentle reset for body and mind. Saltwater offers added support, as increased buoyancy eases pressure on joints and muscles, ideal for those with aches, pains or mobility issues.

Whether you’re a regular cold water swimmer or a first-timer, Droitwich Spa Lido provides a safe, welcoming place to enjoy the experience, with lifeguards, clean facilities and a friendly community.
Discover why so many consider cold water swimming their favourite form of self-care, and why the Lido remains one of Worcestershire’s most loved destinations.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dormy House, a luxurious hotel and spa in the beautiful Cotswold village of Broadway. Set within a private estate spanning over 500 acres, it is the perfect country escape in which to unwind. The grounds are stunning, the dining experience second to none, and the spa absolute bliss. Dormy House is a true sanctuary of peace for anyone in need of some welldeserved TLC.
On arrival, we received a warm welcome along with a helpful introduction to the hotel’s facilities before being shown to our room, which was spacious and luxurious in every detail. The bed was impressively large and irresistibly comfortable, while the bathroom offered the choice of an indulgent bathtub soak or an invigorating power shower. Complimentary, beautifully scented Temple Spa products added an extra touch of relaxation.
The dining experience in The Back Garden restaurant was unlike anything we had experienced before. During the day, the space is bathed in natural light thanks to large windows overlooking the immaculate gardens, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. One of several dining areas at the hotel, The Back Garden is the main restaurant, serving both breakfast and dinner with skill and panache, showcasing the very best of Cotswold-grown ingredients and timeless British flavours.
We thoroughly enjoyed an exceptional three-course meal
featuring artisan products such as Otis & Belle sourdough bread. For our main course, we chose the Outdoor Pig Company chicken and mushroom pie with spring onion mash and chicken cream sauce, served with fries and finished with a garnish of Cornish sea salt and rosemary. Dessert was a sticky toffee Braeburn apple pudding with clotted cream ice cream, all perfectly accompanied by an exquisite bottle of fizz.
The outstanding service throughout our stay made us feel truly looked after, and the night’s sleep that followed in our beautiful room was one of the best we’ve had in a long time.
The following morning, we enjoyed a homemade full English breakfast alongside an excellent selection of fresh juices, fruits, yoghurts and pastries, before heading to the award-winning House Spa for a two-hour experience. Since opening, the spa has garnered numerous accolades, and it is easy to see why.
The spa complex features a serene 16-metre indoor infinity pool with loungers, a soothing hydrotherapy pool on the terrace, and a thermal suite offering a ‘fire and ice’ experience. Highlights include forest mist, tropical rain and Arctic blast showers, a Himalayan salt sauna, and a snow shower where dense snowflakes gently caress the skin and heighten the senses.
We left Dormy House feeling content, deeply relaxed and rejuvenated. Our heartfelt thanks to the management and team for hosting us for such a truly superlative stay.

Time that my husband and I spent at Brockencote Hall was like savouring a slice of heaven. The ambience, setting and service of this award-winning hotel were simply amazing, sitting, as it does, within a 70-acre country estate with a feature fountain, scenic lake and backdrop of the Malvern Hills.
It is nothing short of idyllic, and from the second we arrived, the super-friendly staff treated us as royalty. They made us feel right at home as they gave us a tour of the grounds. The views really were stunning, while the parkland grounds were really peaceful, ideal for gentle walks away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We enjoyed some of the Brockencote’s signature cocktails looking out over the gorgeous grounds, and loved the eco-friendly vibe of a culinary centre of excellence. Staff use the finest local produce to produce their culinary masterpieces,, including fruit, vegetables, herbs and honey gathered from the hotel gardens and grounds.
The Eden Hotel Collection which owns Brockencote Hall Hotel was named the AA’s Best Small Hotel Group in 2024-25.
And, Brockencote Hall’s Chaddesley Restaurant has earned an immense reputation as a place to eat. It has garnered Three Rosettes from the AA, putting it in the ‘outstanding’ tier of
eateries achieving consistent excellence, in recognition not only of great food with a wealth of fresh, contemporary flavours but also intuitive service and well-chosen wine lists.
Head chef Tim Jenkins cooks up amazing dishes bursting with flavour, and presents them with great elegance and flair to please the eye as well as the palate. He is passionate about quality, saying: “Seasonal, fresh, tasty, local, I stand by these four words with every dish I create.”
Honestly, our dining experience was simply stunning and would have thrilled the most demanding connoisseurs.
We stayed in a feature suite and were blown away by the levels of luxury in the fabrics, colours, comfort and superb en-suite bathroom. It was totally calming and provided everything we could want or need, including a king-sized bed, luxury bathrobes and slippers, digital TV, DVD player, fridge, refreshments and divine Temple Spa toiletries.
As we left this beautiful place, we felt refreshed, relaxed and totally content. Anyone looking for pure luxury, stunning food and most breathtaking grounds will certainly find them all find aplenty at Brockencote Hall Hotel.

Cosy, warm and welcoming country pubs are the mainstay of British hospitality. Often at the very heart of village life, they offer places of comfort and convivial sociability, where people can meet and mingle, take their rest and get together with family and friends over a pleasant tipple and, often, a good meal.
This is our selection of Worcestershire’s finest, a spread of idyllic and award-winning hostelries in pretty places around a county famed nationwide for its great food and drink.
The Old Bush stands in the village of Callow End in the Malvern Hills district and epitomises the best traditions of country pubs and is featured in the 2026 Good Pub Guide published by the Campaign for Real Ale. But, it offers so much more than fine tipples!
Every day, the dog and familyfriendly Old Bush offers freshly cooked lunches and evening meals, from pub classics to modern bistro dishes to be enjoyed indoors or out in the gardens as weather allows. Its Sunday roasts are a big favourite
with locals and visitors can also enjoy making some other great food choices in the on-site café and farm shop. Those who really love the place – including walkers testing themselves on the nearby Old Hills –can even camp there overnight.
Another award-winner, The Fox Inn at Chaddesley Corbett, is another superb food pub. Run by a gifted chef, it offers both a la carte excellence and a premium daily carvery to the hungry public, always with a strong ethos of high quality ingredients from local suppliers.

The Old Bush, Callow End is a family-run, traditional country pub set at the foot of the Old Hills in Worcestershire, offering the perfect blend of warmth, flavour and local hospitality.
Open daily from midday, the cosy pub serves freshly prepared, home-cooked dishes alongside a carefully curated selection of local ales, beers and wines, including favourites from Butcombe, Wye Valley and Hobsons. Beyond the bar, discover the charm of the on-site café and farm shop, stocked with the best local produce to take home. On warmer days, guests can enjoy the large patio and gardens, perfect for al fresco dining or simply relaxing in the countryside. For those wishing to linger longer, camping pitches and luxury pods provide a memorable stay. With open fires, welcoming service and a true sense of place, The Old Bush is a standout destination for anyone seeking one of Worcestershire’s finest country pubs.

With over 250 years of history, The Fox Inn remains a welcoming heart of its rural community. Led by Head Chef Ben Giles, this country pub and restaurant blends traditional family values with superb modern British dining. Enjoy seasonal, locally sourced menus, an excellent à la carte selection or premium daily carvery, all paired with local ales and carefully chosen wines.

One way to know when a pub has earned its place in a community is when it has lasted the test of time. The Queen Elizabeth Inn in Elmley Castle has been pleasing the public since the 16th century, standing as it does in a village of black and white houses, often used as a starting point for climbing Bredon hill and enjoying views over Evesham Vale from the top.
The Queen Elizabeth is not only a great pub with a brilliant offering of home-made pub food and locally brewed beers, but also has a community-run, all-day café offering breakfasts and teas, Tuesday to Sunday.
The Crown at Martley is our final choice, another classic country pub with snug rooms, open fires when
it’s chilly and great food from menus cooked by a Michelin-starred chef. With a long and hospitable reputation for food, drink and cosiness, The Crown has a special place in the heart of walkers who regularly stop off after enjoying the local walks on the Martley Circular route through the Teme Valley. The Crown also now offers comfortable accommodation in four lovely guest bedrooms.

We are a multiple award-winning, community-run 16th-century inn. Nestled at the foot of Bredon Hill in the beautiful village of Elmley Castle, we offer a wide range of homemade pub food, great local beers, and an all-day café. We are dog and family friendly!

Set in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, The Crown at Martley is a classic country pub reimagined for modern rural living. With its characterful snug rooms, open fires and warm, welcoming interiors, it’s a place made for slow afternoons, fireside drinks and relaxed, unhurried evenings.
Surrounded by rolling countryside, The Crown sits at the gateway to one of Martley’s most-loved circular walks. Starting directly from the pub, the just over sixmile Martley Circular Route winds through the Teme Valley’s orchards, pastures and ancient woodland, taking in part of the Worcestershire Way. Just 10 minutes from Worcester, walkers are rewarded with cosy corners by the fire, a well-earned drink and a menu that celebrates seasonal produce, alongside much loved Sunday roasts, making it the perfect place to linger after a day outdoors.
