Repurposing old tools to build new futures Some people will remember the time when the 'rag and bone' man would tour the streets 'Steptoe-like', with a horse and cart (and later a battered flat-bed lorry) shouting out, incongruously, "Any old iron!" Those days are long gone, but what to do with that 'old iron' remains a challenge. Enter Tools With A Mission (TWAM), the UK-based Christian charity founded in the 1980s that collects, refurbishes, and sends redundant tools overseas to support sustainable livelihoods. TWAM collects unwanted DIY and garden tools, alongside laptops, sewing machines, and trade equipment. These are restored for reuse in developing countries, helping provide skills, equipment, employment, and income for those whose lives are affected
by disease, unemployment, or a lack of education - what TWAM calls the 'Poverty Thief'. Once refurbished, these tools empower people to start small businesses or farm their crops. In mid-June, the Woodbridge Rotary Club ran a two-week campaign to collect these items across the community, engaging schools, churches, allotment societies, and local residents. Notcutts also collected on behalf of the club at their checkout, while Houchell's Yard served as the final drop-off point. In total, three van loads of tools and equipment were collected, an amazing result for which we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude. Get the marmalade sandwiches ready - Leiston is gearing up to host a free open-air screening of Paddington in Peru this summer! Delivered in partnership with Sizewell C, The Long Shop Museum and Leiston Events Group, the event will celebrate 50 years since the Town Council saved the much-loved Leiston Film Theatre. Taking place at Victory Road Recreational Ground on August 1st, the event promises a bear-y special evening, complete with food and drink stalls and a fireworks finale to round off the celebrations. Wayne Burns (General Manager of Leiston Film Theatre) said: "I'm so pleased that our community can gather together to celebrate the fact that our town is home to Suffolk's oldest cinema. The council made a bold move in 1976 when they effectively saved the town's cinema, not only securing the venue's continuation, but also as a major asset for Leiston. It's not always been

attendance in the 1970s, the venue was saved from closure in 1976 by the Town Council, which has since invested in carefully updating the building to meet the expectations of today's audiences. Sizewell C's new college gets planning permission in Leiston

A new chapter for education in East Suffolk is set to begin after East Suffolk Council this week approved Sizewell C's plans to build a new permanent post-16 college and apprentice hub in Leiston. The College on the Coast and Apprentice Hub will be a single, two-storey building facing King George's Avenue in Leiston with space for 150 students, 20 fulltime staff, as well as drop-in space for 50 apprentices. Delivered in partnership with Suffolk New College, the college will provide post-16 technical and vocational pathways in engineering, digital skills, business, and logistics, supporting both apprenticeships and wider workforce progression. Its learning spaces will include classrooms, training suites, technical, digital and practical workshops, and a lecture theatre. Nigel Cann (CEO of Sizewell C) said: "This is a big moment for our project, for Leiston, and for young people and adult learners in this part of Suffolk. "For too long, people here have faced obstacles to continuing their
education and training, not least the time and cost of having to commute to institutions much further afield. By building a new college right here in Leiston, in partnership with Suffolk New College, we're removing some of those barriers and creating life-changing opportunities for thousands of people. "This education campus will not only create the pipeline of talent that our project needs to deliver the best value project for Britain, it will transform education pathways in this area for generations to come." Archaeology is due to begin on the site, on the eastern edge of Leiston, in the coming months, with the main construction phase to commence in the New Year. Teaching and training is scheduled to begin in 2027 and will expand in the following academic year. East Suffolk Council also approved an outline application for a Centre of Excellence - a purpose-built training infrastructure for SZC's projectfacing workforce, delivered in partnership with regional

We already have plans to ensure cycle routes and footpaths to the college are in place for its completion, offering a safe environment through to the east of the town for Leiston students. With a state-of-the-art new college to add to our many assets, the town will provide the whole package. Exciting times are ahead for
Leiston." Councillor Tom Daly (East Suffolk Council's Cabinet Member for Energy & Climate Change) said: "We're pleased to see planning permission granted for the new education hub in Leiston. Sizewell C is expected to have a significant impact on employment in the area, both during construction and in the long term, creating new opportunities for skills development, training, and apprenticeships. "Through the Deed of Obligation, the project is also committed to delivering employment, skills, and education benefits for local communities, helping to ensure that local people can access these opportunities and creating a lasting skills legacy that will support future infrastructure and engineering on energy projects across the region." Sizewell C already has partnerships and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in place with all education providers across the region to support young people to access the opportunities on the project. With the support of Sizewell C, Kingfisher Schools Trust has established a collaboration between 18 primary and secondary schools in the area. The project also provides a £24m funding commitment to enhance facilities and resources in local colleges, Higher Education, and training providers and improve skills. Lord Vallance (Minister of State for Science, Innovation, Research & Nuclear) said: "Sizewell C is about more than generating clean energy, it's about creating opportunities that will last for generations. "This new college will give many people in Suffolk the skills they need to access good jobs and ensure the benefits of Sizewell C are felt across the local community for years to come."

Leiston Football Club begin their new season on August 8th The Blues will once again be playing at Step 3 of the nonleague football pyramid, just three rungs down from the EFL Division Two. The Club plays at the highest level of non-league football in Suffolk (along with Needham Market and Bury Town) and, along with an U23 and U18 side, also boasts a plethora of Saturday and Sunday youth sides, including girls' teams. It's that community feel within Leiston FC which makes it such a popular place to be on a Saturday afternoon, or midweek, with many fans, sponsors and hardworking committee folk make the Flannery Stadium, in Victory Road, a welcoming place. The Blues first team play in the Southern League Premier Division Central and clubs as far away as Worcester City, Stourbridge, Kettering Town and Halesowen Town all come to Leiston during the season, as well
as big local derby clashes against Bury and Needham Market. A feast of top football. Backed by superb fans and a string of fantastic sponsors, Leiston will include new signing Adam Marriott this season. The former Lincoln City midfielder has been the Club's marque signing this summer. The opening home game of the season at the Flannery Stadium is against Bishop's Stortford on Tuesday, August 11th, 7.45pm ko, while Rushall Olympic, from Wolverhampton, are the next opponents at Leiston on Saturday, August 15th, 3pm ko. Saturday Youth sides receive Respect Award
Opening fixtures announced for the Under 23's The Under 23's will start their new season at the Flannery Stadium with Old Newton United the visitors on August 8th as the Suffolk & Ipswich League has announced the opening fixtures of the new campaign. It's been 25 years since a Leiston side competed in the Suffolk & Ipswich League Premier Division and Neil Smye's side will host a side they have met a few times recently in the Suffolk Senior Cup.
Four days after the opener, the Under 23's make the half mile trip across Leiston to Junction Meadow where they will face Leiston St. Margaret's in a local derby on August 12th. After a trip to Henley Athletic on August 15th, its another midweek encounter as reigning Suffolk & Ipswich League Premier Division Champions Coplestonians visit the Flannery Stadium on August 18th. Leiston Football Club's Saturday Youth teams have received the Total Football Respect Award for the 2025/2026 season. The Blues have six teams competing on Saturdays at various age groups. They are Under 8, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 16 plus, the Leiston Lionesses. Campsite comedy to debut at Leiston Film Theatre A brand-new comedy drama is to premiere at the Leiston Film Theatre in September and tickets are already selling well. Mourning Campers has been written by Leiston Film Theatre manager Wayne Burns and is being brought to the stage under his 'Team B Productions' banner, who are also responsible for creating the venue's popular annual pantomimes. Mourning Campers is set in a Suffolk holiday camp in the 1980s and follows the drama behind the scenes and on stage at Archers Holiday Camp. At a time when the package holiday is growing in popularity, what can be done to keep the campers coming? Thankfully, the campsite owner has an idea and it's now up to the staff to make it a success. The idea for this comedy drama, which is deemed suitable for ages 16+, came literary out of the blue - 35,000 feet off the ground! "We were returning home from Florida in 2017 and I grabbed a few airline serviettes and scribbled various notes about possible characters, their mannerisms and a potential storyline to help me through the flight! These notes then sat in my box until 2024, when I finally started work on a draft script in earnest." said Wayne, who originally hoped to bring the show to the stage in 2025, but ended up postponing it until 2026, as he
wasn't happy about one section of the script. Wayne was a huge fan of the 1980s BBC sit-com Hi-de-Hi and in 2016 met Jeffrey Holland, who played the comedian Spike Dickson in the hit TV series. "I told Jeffrey that I was hoping to write a script about a Suffolk holiday camp and he wholeheartedly encouraged me to do it - so I did!" said Wayne. Wayne has been busy buying up authentic props for the production, as well as making a custombuilt set for the play - on top of working on Team B Productions next family pantomime, Sleeping Beauty, which appears at the
Leiston Film Theatre in January 2027. "Mourning Campers is something very different for us all and requires a different discipline from those performing on stage. It's a very exciting exercise for us and there's already a lot of interest in this particular production." said Wayne. Mourning Campers appears live at the Leiston Film Theatre on Friday 25th, Saturday and Sunday 27th September 2026. Early Careers Group visit to Sizewell C
Sizewell C's second Annual Sustainability Report reveals progress on delivering environmental, social, and economic benefits On July 6th, Sizewell C has published its second Annual Sustainability Report. The report includes Sizewell C's sustainability performance indicators to track progress against long-term targets in areas such as nature, climate, employment, workforce diversity, and waste diversion. A year on from its inaugural Sustainability Report, the 2026 report reveals Sizewell C has now spent £4.89bn with more than 1,000 UK suppliers, including £1.35bn across the East of England alone. The project has also created 120 apprenticeships to date, 80 of which are for people from Suffolk. More than 2,000 people are now working on site, with over a third coming from the local area. The report also highlights progress in supporting local communities. The Sizewell C Community Fund has now provided more than £3.9 million to local projects, while the Sizewell Creative programme

expanded to 27 events across eight locations. The launch of the Site Social Benefits Forum is also helping connect local projects with the supply chain to maximise the social value delivered through the project. Alongside community benefits, Sizewell C is committed to leaving a positive environmental legacy. The project is targeting a 19% biodiversity net gain (nearly twice the national requirement) with recent assessments suggesting this could be even higher through improved habitat connectivity once the construction site has been restored back to nature and the new habitats have matured. Early signs are encouraging, with successful breeding of natterjack toads, increased marsh harrier activity, and sightings of rare species such as the grayling butterfly across the project's nature reserves. Previously, Tony Juniper, CBE Chair of Natural England, applauded Sizewell C's commitment to nature, stating:

When we take this kind of action up front, we can secure big wins for Britain's energy security, whilst restoring nature." The report also demonstrates how Sizewell C is reducing its environmental impact through both circular economy and carbon reduction initiatives. More than 53,000 tonnes of recycled concrete aggregate from Sizewell A and B have been reused on the project, while a commitment to keep construction emissions below 2.1MtCO2e will be achieved through eliminating diesel from site by 2030, using 100% low-carbon electricity, and increasing the use of lowercarbon materials. The Annual Sustainability Report has been published alongside Sizewell C's 2025/26 Annual Report and Accounts.
The report captures a year of important milestones, such as Final Investment Decision (FID) and Financial Close, which saw Sizewell C become the first UK nuclear project financed under the Regulated Asset Base model and to secure investment-grade credit rating. Nigel Cann, Sizewell C CEO, said: "Sustainability is one of the most important measures of Sizewell C's success. It's at the heart of the commitments we've made to the country, to local communities, to our people, and to nature. This, our second Sustainability Report, is a vital temperature check for our project, demonstrating the progress we've made in our pledge to deliver infrastructure differently. "As our work ramps up over the coming years, we'll continue to ensure that sustainability remains the golden thread that unites everything we do - leaving communities, businesses, and our country with a better future."
Blyth Valley Rotary Club's inaugural Brass on the Grass concert brought music, community spirit, and a summer atmosphere to Halesworth Town Park on July 4th. Accompanied by warm temperatures, visitors enjoyed an afternoon of excellent live brass band music in the park's relaxed setting. The band's varied programme was well suited to a summer afternoon and was warmly received by those who attended. The event followed weeks of planning by a small team of Rotary members, Friends of Rotary, and volunteers. Stalls, gazebos, and bunting helped transform the park into an inviting venue, and many visitors commented on the welcoming atmosphere. Kelly from Halesworth Town Council praised the event's appearance and the calm, summery ambience created by the organisers. One organiser said, "Seeing the park filled with music, smiles, and people enjoying themselves made all the hard work worthwhile." Refreshments, crepes, ice creams, and pizza proved popular
throughout the afternoon, while the teddy stall attracted visitors of all ages. Rotary collection buckets, together with generous donations from stallholders and members of the public, helped boost the day's fundraising. All profit from the event will go to Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y.) via @Tobyforever23 (Halesworth Group). C.R.Y. is a national charitable organisation helping to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, including sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. Established in May 1995 by Alison Cox MBE and based in the United Kingdom, more information can be found at: c-r-y. org.uk. The final fundraising total will be shared in due course. Blyth Valley Rotary Club extends sincere thanks to everyone who helped before, during, and after the event. Particular thanks go to the honorary Rotarians, Friends of Rotary, volunteers, and supporters who collected and erected gazebos, decorated the park, served refreshments, ran stalls, welcomed visitors, and helped clear everything away afterwards. The event showed
what can be achieved by a small but dedicated team working together. Special thanks also go to the band for providing such a highquality afternoon of entertainment. Their excellent musicianship and carefully chosen programme were enjoyed by all. While organisers would always welcome more visitors, it was encouraging to see so many families, friends, and park users stopping to enjoy the music. Many people were pleasantly surprised to discover the event taking place, which gives the club plenty to think about as plans begin for next year. Blyth Valley Rotary Club would like to thank everyone who supported Brass on the Grass and helped make its first year such a success. The club hopes the event will become a regular feature of Halesworth's summer calendar. Pangea Elephant Sanctuary
Sanctuary - Wade Million
The Pangea Trust, a local charity based in Wenhaston, has just opened the gates to the first large-scale elephant sanctuary in Europe. Its 1,000-acre reserve in the Alentejo region of Portugal exists to help zoos and circuses rehome elephants in need. Julie (Portugal's last circus elephant) became Pangea's first resident last month. Taken from the wild in southern Africa as a young calf, she spent more than 40 years performing in a Portuguese circus before a national ban on wild animals came into force in 2024. Her owners agreed to rehome her to Pangea, where she is already thriving. She will soon be joined by Kariba, another female African elephant, wild-caught in the 1980s and currently living alone at a zoo in Belgium. Julie's habitat is already more than ten times the size of an average European zoo enclosure, and Pangea are now raising funds to open a further 70 acres to give her space to roam this year. A blooming good evening with Framlingham florist, Sheila Pipe In July, we had a very interesting talk and demonstration given by Sheila Pipe, a florist in Framlingham. Sheila told us how she first started training in floristry at Otley College, having become interested in flower arranging by helping with church flowers when she was young. She explained how ideas and fashions, especially with bridal bouquets, had changed over the years, and how there is now a strong emphasis on moving away from plastic materials. Her first arrangement was a hand-tied bouquet, and she showed us how the stems have to form a spiral. When the bouquet was completed, the flowers were tied with string and wrapped in paper, as she tries to limit the use of cellophane. Sheila also introduced us to "Table Scaping," a term first used by designer David Hicks. For this, flowers are placed in low containers or bud vases so that they sit below eye level.
The containers are then placed in small groupings along the table. Again, plastic material is not needed to hold the flowers in place because the containers are small.
Our meeting ended with tea and biscuits, giving members time to chat and look at the sale tables. Next month, we are all looking forward to our outing to the Exotic Garden in Henstead.

Blackberry & Bramley Apple Crumble August in the UK is the magical window where late-summer wild blackberries match up perfectly with the first harvest of tart Bramley cooking apples. It's peak foraging season, making a rustic Blackberry & Bramley Apple Crumble the absolute best sweet treat to bake right now! • Prep time: 20 mins • Cook time: 35-40 mins • Servings: 4-6 Ingredients For the fruit filling: • 450g Bramley apples (roughly 3 medium apples), peeled, cored, and chopped into 2cm chunks • 150g fresh blackberries (foraged or store-bought) • 50g caster sugar (adjust slightly if you prefer it tarter) • 1 tbsp water For the crumble topping: • 175g plain flour • 100g chilled unsalted butter, cut into small cubes • 75g Demerara sugar (gives a lovely caramelised crunch) • 50g rolled oats Method: 1. Preheat the oven: Gas Mark 6 / 190°C (170°C fan).Get your oven up to temperature while you prep the fruit. 2. Soften the apples: Place the chopped apples, caster sugar, and 1 tablespoon of water into a large saucepan. Cook gently over a medium heat for about 5 minutes until
the apples just begin to soften around the edges. 3. Add the berries: Remove the saucepan from the heat and gently fold in the fresh blackberries. Tip the mixture into a medium-sized ovenproof baking dish and spread it out evenly. 4. Make the crumble topping: In a large bowl, mix the plain flour and chilled cubed butter. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Stir in the demerara sugar and the rolled oats. 5. Assemble and bake: 35-40 mins. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit don't pack it down too tightly, or the topping will go dense. Bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes until the fruit juices are bubbling up at the edges and the top is a deep, golden brown. A helpful tip: Bramley apples break down beautifully into a fluffy, tart sauce, which balances out the sweet crunch of the topping. If you only have dessert apples (like Gala or Braeburn), cut them slightly smaller and skip Step 2 entirely, as they hold their shape much more and don't need a head start. Serve it hot out of the oven with a generous puddle of cold double cream or proper warm vanilla custard!

Kay Goddard The local dance and theatre community mourn the loss of Kathleen Iris Page, affectionately known to generations of pupils as Kay Goddard. Kay passed away peacefully Wednesday June 24th at the White House Care Home in Beccles. Kay's remarkable life inspired a lifelong love of dance, theatre and performance in thousands of young people across Suffolk and beyond. Beginning her teaching career shortly after the end of WWII,

Kay built one of the region's most respected and enduring dance schools. With unwavering dedication, she travelled each week to teach in Halesworth, Saxmundham, Framlingham, Leiston, Diss and Woodbridge, sharing her passion for ballet, tap, modern, jazz and theatre with generations of aspiring dancers. Kay's career was one of extraordinary commitment. She continued teaching until the age of 85, retiring after an incredible 68 years devoted to dance education. In that time, she became far more

than a dance teacher; she was a mentor, role model, confidant and friend to countless young people and their families. Her influence extended far beyond East Anglia. Many of Kay's former pupils went on to perform professionally on Broadway, in London's West End, on television, in summer seasons and aboard international cruise ships. Others achieved distinction as soloists with The Royal Ballet, while many followed in her footsteps as dance teachers, passing on the values and love of dance she instilled in them. Professional success was never how Kay measured achievement. She believed every child deserved the chance to discover confidence, discipline, creativity and joy through dance. Whether a pupil dreamed of the world's greatest stages or simply danced for the love of it, Kay encouraged each one with equal warmth, patience and enthusiasm. Her classes created lasting friendships, treasured memories and a sense of belonging that endured long after the final curtain call. Known for her wonderful sense of humour, captivating storytelling and infectious enthusiasm, Kay had the rare gift of making every student feel seen, valued and capable of more than they imagined. Her warmth, kindness and high standards earned the respect and affection of generations of families, many of whom entrusted not only their children but later their grandchildren to her care. Kay's legacy is measured not
only by the remarkable careers she helped launch, but by the thousands of lives she enriched. Her influence continues every time a former pupil steps into a dance studio, teaches a class, takes to the stage or remembers with affection the lessons she taught both in dance and in life. She leaves behind a community of grateful students, colleagues, families and friends who will forever cherish the memories she created and the opportunities she gave so generously. We mourn her passing deeply, and her life remains one of dedication, generosity, artistry and service. Her contribution to dance education will not be forgotten. Donations in Kay's memory, if desired, may be made to the Royal Ballet Benevolent Fund, a charity close to her heart, helping to support those within the dance profession she loved throughout her life. Kathleen Iris Page (Kay Goddard) leaves a legacy that will continue to dance through the lives of generations to come. "Kay always believed that every child could shine. Woodbridge Rotary Club honoured its most senior Rotarian, Ron Hepworth MBE, on Friday with a special lunch during the week of his 100th birthday celebrations, marking his 53 years as a Rotarian. He was, of course, honoured by the King and Queen with congratulations and a card. The special lunch at the Bull Hotel was attended by Rotarians from both the Woodbridge and Deben Clubs, Inner Wheel members, and partners of club members. District 1080 was represented by Assistant Governor Richard Perkins. The history of Ron's involvement with Rotary was shared with those
present by Club President Robin Pivett. Ron is also a Freeman of Woodbridge. Letters of congratulation for this wonderful achievement (and for Ron's involvement with Mencap, the Red Cross, the Methodist Church, and numerous other organisations) were received from HM Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk Mark Pendlington, High Sheriff Oliver Paul DL, Mayor of Woodbridge Nigel Phipps, President of Rotary International Francesco Arezzo, and past and present District 1080 Governors Ian Graham and Andy Roberts. Although he has completed 53 years of service, Ron was presented with a certificate
recognising 50 years of service to Rotary by Richard Perkins, and he was made an Honorary Member of Woodbridge Rotary Club by President Robin Pivett. Highlights of his membership were shared with all present. Ron was President of the Club in 1980 and 2000. It's worth remembering that when Ron joined Rotary, petrol was 39p per gallon, a pint of beer was 18p, and a new Ford Cortina was £1,075 - how times have changed! Ron was presented with a replica of "The President's Perch," in the same way he was presented with a perch when he served as President. Among his many notable endeavours, a few stood out: joining a convoy taking caravans to Italy after an eruption of Mount Vesuvius, his very vocal objections to the closure of local Post Offices, and helping club members understand VAT when it was first introduced. For many years he has compered the Annual Open Air Carol Service on Woodbridge Market Hill, and he will be there again this December at the top of the steps at the Shire Hall. Ron can still be seen offering a helping hand at many events in the town. To quote the Lord Lieutenant, he's "unstoppable."

Two Centuries of Suffolk Art 1825 to 2025
The East Anglian Traditional Art Centre based at 48 High Street in Wickham Market is holding an exhibition to celebrate John Constable's 250th anniversary named, 'Two Centuries of Suffolk Art'. The exhibition will include many Suffolk views and will be held from September 26th to October 10th. It will explore the development of painting in Suffolk from the time of John Constable to the present day. Original oils and drawings
by the artist will be on show, together with 19th century pictures by Thomas Churchyard of Woodbridge, John Moore of Ipswich, the Smythe brothers and George Thomas Rope. Edward Seago, Harry Becker, Leonard Squirrell and Cavendish Morton will represent the 20th century. Recent works by Graham Crowley, Julian Perry and other living artists will show that Constable's influence continues. John Day (founder of the East
Anglian Tradition Art Centre) commented, "The exhibition will examine the work of Suffolk painters over two centuries who were often inspired by the works of John Constable". Alongside the loan exhibition a selection of paintings will be offered for sale, many on behalf of private collectors. The 2026 season is progressing well. We've had lovely shirtsleeve weather in the evenings, and our results are very much improved. On June 28th, we held our twowood triples open tournament (a very successful day all round), complete with good weather, excellent refreshments, and the first-class bowling our green always produces. 24 blocks, representing clubs from across the coastal county, competed for a total prize fund of £360. The tournament was arranged in two sections, with all blocks playing three games of 10 ends, and the top two blocks from each section progressing to the finals. The overall winners were Roy's block from Alderton, who overcame Richard's block (2nd). Meanwhile, the lovely, vocal Marcus and his Laxfield block took 3rd place after beating fellow Laxfield bowler John (4th). It was a great day's bowling enjoyed by all. The Leiston Town Bowls Club took in £900, which, after deducting the £360 prize money and other expenses, still left a very welcome profit

Alberts Dairy reflects on a wonderful first year! What a year it's been celebrating our first anniversary at Alberts Dairy! This historic barn has been in our family since the 1950s, originally run by Albert, a WWI veteran. To save it from ruin, we lovingly restored it into an eco-friendly, high-quality retreat. When we first opened our doors a year ago, we hoped people would come here to rest, recharge, and enjoy the peace of Suffolk. Seeing that dream become a reality has been truly special. Over the past year, we've had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful mix of people, all with their own stories and reasons for staying. for the club. Heartfelt thanks go to the club's catering ladies, well done! Meanwhile, our fortunes in the leagues continue to improve. In the Saxmundham League Division 1, our A side sits 2nd, just five points adrift of the top. In Division 2, the B side is also 2nd, seven points adrift but with a game in hand. Over in the Woodbridge League Division 1, we are 3rd, six points adrift with two games in hand, while in the Fynn League Section 2, we're mid-table in 5th. That leaves the Bob Wright League; we're second from bottom here, but our losses have mostly been by a mere two to six shots, proving we're highly competitive. Hoping the weather holds (and doesn't get too hot!), we look forward to playing our games in hand and showing our true position. Both our new and returning older bowlers are improving by the game, and the future looks bright. Remember our three-wood pairs tournament on September 3rd. Framlingham Co-op will have some changes come into effect for its car park from Monday, August 10th. The new system is designed to improve parking availability for customers and help ensure spaces are available for people visiting the store. What's changing? Customers making a purchase in the store will be entitled to 90 minutes of free parking by entering their vehicle registration on the tablet inside the store. If you need to stay longer, additional parking can be purchased (£2 for up to two hours and £3 for up to three hours). Customers can purchase additional parking time using
