Tuesday’s Del Norte Board of Supervisors was a somber and highly emotional event. During the Public Comments period, supervisors listened to a dozen individuals from a packed audience who expressed their outrage over the July 4th explosion of illegal fireworks on South Beach. The time was about 10:45 July 4 evening and the Fireworks Show from the Jetty had just ended. The site was South Beach, several thousand onlookers were treated to a fabulous show…then tragedy struck. Facebooker SuZanna Kathlene Church shared the disturbing news on the incident which placed her three year old nephew identified as baby William Lupan , in harm’s way. Sheriff Garrett Scott declared the fireworks were highly illegal and an investigation is currently underway. The Sheriff reported 14 additional individuals were reported injured but was not specific in details. The family reports William’s condition is touch and go and expresses deep appreciation from the community’s concern. Car Shows Provide Economic Shot-in-the Arm and a Lot More

Area Benefit Car Shows across Northern California and Coastal Oregon

Attending a week-end car show is much more than observing a beautiful paint job on a classic hot rod or antique vehicle. Across coastal Northern California and Oregon, as many as 300 vehicles strut their stuff on any given summertime week-end. Most of the Benefit Shows in our geography are celebrating 30 years or more anniversaries. Area car Shows provide a venue for like-minded folks to gather and admire beautiful vehicular art and also provide much needed charity to communities in which they serve. Teamwork Cleans the Beach

The Redwood Parks Conservancy (RPC) Smith River Alliance, multi-partners and 110 volunteers cleaned up in the aftermath of the July 4 Fireworks event along South Beach, Crescent Beach and Pebble Beach.
