Memorial Day 2025 remembers the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice overseas in preserving the way of life and culture in America. Veterans of Foreign War Post Commander Lt. Colonel David Cooper welcome the audience of about 200, including the Del Norte High School Marching Band. Colonel Cooper also chimed the bell for each of the 44 Del Norters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Del Norte DUI Felony/Hit and Run Case The Sheriff seeks your help in to be Prosecuted by Attorney-General acquiring a DNSO Posse unit the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. Hooper registered a .08 alcohol level, conducted on scene by the CHP. Hooper was arrested and booked for Felony DUI Hit and Run. The suspect posted bond and awaits arraignment in Superior Court. Several calls to The Triplicate alleging ignoring of coverage due to suspect’s status with Del Norte County were received. The allegation of special treatment for Mr. Hooper are unfounded.

An unanticipated delay for an early Easter eve DUI Felony Hit and Run incident has been transferred to the California Attorney-General Dept. of Justice Office for prosecution. Nearly one year has elapsed since the near tragic incident involving illegal fireworks on South Beach, July 4, 2024. The case has slowly meandered the circuitous legal road. Last week, Superior Court Judge Darren McElfresh allowed the legal separation of suspects Levi HowardWayne Mills, 34 and Megan Rae Warner, 33.
The child, Baby B (William Lupan) has made steady progress toward full recovery. Adult Rose Reppond was also injured during the incident, as stated in the Special Allegation. Reppond’s recovery and condition were not made public. Mills will be sentenced Tuesday, July 29 at 9:00am in Dept.1, Del Norte c County Superior Court, Judge McElfresh presiding.
